From Ellerbe is a rock band based out of the Shreveport, Louisiana area. Founded in September 2007, the band strives to find a happy medium between secular and Christian music.
With music driven by an aggressive yet beautiful voice, slammin' bass, tight drumming, and the low end crunch of guitars, From Ellerbe has finally released its sonic assault into the Christian rock world with tracks from the band's first full length album, Flatline.
The band drew its name from Ellerbe, Louisiana, not only because of the mysterious haunted Ellerbe school, but so that the group can keep true to its Louisiana roots no matter how far they go.
From Ellerbe consists of Alyssa Hinkle (lead vocals), Mark Holloway (drums), Josh "Cupcake" Wood (bass), and Matt Trimble (guitars). The focus of this band is an alternative way to minister. Not everyone believes in religion...neither does this band. Religion is simply a man-made entity, of way of classifing God, a way of marketing church houses. There is no smoke and mirror acts within this band's message, only simple truths. Some Christians need music to jump and praise to, not the routine lackluster worship services. They need something to get happy about; and non-believers need to see that God has, is, and will make people happy.
From Ellerbe isn't trying to force Christ on anyone. This music is for who wants to enjoy it, Atheists, Muslims, Christians, Jews...ALL WALKS OF FAITH. So if you don't agree with the message we preach, don't condemn us, just have an awesome day.
