Mosby started a solo career after leaving Bartlett’s local band Now Live (formerly Ginosko, now a part of Endorphin Rush.) Leaving the hardcore rock scene, Mosby decided he’d write about his personal life and the state of things. After several bad attempts at writing, Mosby finally produced "Coffee Shoppe" which was based on a past relationship that didn’t work out. After that, he stuck to covers when he couldn’t write any quailty material. He moved to Lakeshore UMA for the summer of 2006 where he was a church camp counselor and hoped he could use the experiences of his independence to write some more upbeat tunes, however Mosby failed to write until he returned home. His next single would be titled "Near or Far," about a girl he was dating at the time and the difficulites they would face with a long distance relationship. Sure enough, those difficulties caught up to them and not long after the song’s release they broke up.
Mosby struggled with things in his life for a while and finally produced two new songs based on experiences he had his summer away from home. The first was "Medicated Tragedy" about stupid mistakes, and the next was "Home" and it talked about the problems of home life and family. Needless to say, "Medicated Tragedy" was too deep and immense for even Mosby himself to perform, and he rewrote it to be "What Will It Take." Mosby finished his first EP in December of 2006.
In January of 2007, Mosby began playing larger shows with local Memphis bands as well as bands from all over the country. His friendship with Owen Pye would prove beneficial several times down the road. He released his first full-length album, "Love, Lust, Loss" in May 2007 and he dedicated it to his beloved friend, and inspiring teacher, Ashley Marie Scott, who was tragically murdered on November 23, 2006. Ashley owned two of Mosby’s t-shirts, every recording he’d done, and in her classroom had all of his flyers on the walls. She gave him constructive criticism on all of his songs and helped him through all of the tough situations that he wrote about and she will be greatly missed.
In Memory of the Late Ashley Scott
Mosby recieved a position as Music Director at Lakeshore UMA for the summer of 2007 and used it as a chance to inhance his musical abilities. While there, Mosby’s life seem to be headed somewhere he wasn’t quite sure of. However, he met a local girl named Paige Martin who inspired him to write several songs that follow a different sound than he is used to. Finally, Mosby found the inspiration he was looking for. During the short time they were together, Mosby wrote an entire album about their relationship, the good times and the bad times, all the way up to the end. Whereas it has not yet been recorded, Mosby expects the release of this new CD "Ashened With Ashes" to be no later than May 2008.
