From Indian Lakes' name is somewhat of a misnomer. You see, when they
picked the name, none of them lived in the town of Indian Lakes, CA in
the mountains above Fresno...but Guy Samuelson did. Guy has lived
there for his whole life with his rather large family, writing folk
songs and growing out his hair. The rest of the band admired Guy so
much that they named their band after his hometown, even before he
joined. He couldn't play drums very well, but once he learned he sort
of had to join, given the great honor bestowed upon him.
From Indian Lakes will release their debut full-length record, "The
Man With Wooden Legs" on December 15, 2009. The band recorded the
album (sans Guy Samuelson) with producer Dryw Owens (Consider the
Thief) during the summer of 2009. The songs that were spawned out of
those sessions reflect the bands' collective maturity and purpose
while being surrounded by music that is otherwise derivative and
lacking in any sort of defining positive characteristics. Joey
Vanucchi's (vocals, guitar) lyrics and musical abilities are well
beyond his years and show that this record is only the tip of the
iceberg as far as the band's potential is concerned. You can't really
describe these songs with buzzwords or spiffy adjectives. It can
really only be summed up in this way: these songs are about the doubt,
faith, love and hope that we experience everyday...only they're told
in a way only these five young men from the mountains can express, you
just have to listen.

I KNEW you guys were in a band when we met you last night... it's funny how people in bands just have a "im in a band" aura
... thats a good thing then. Anyway, your music is badass... totally happily surprised to find good music! YES!
Anyway, good to meet you and next time lets talk music and then play a show together... I get the feeling you guys rock hard live and that makes me happy.
