Thanks for checking out your new favorite band, From Jupiter. The band hails from Burlington, VT but has been out in Southern California for the last two years. Long story short, after both playing in a few local bands around Burlington, JJ Sicotte decided to move out West to live the dream and have a prosperous career in music. 6 months later he was beaten and battered and packing up to move back to VT when he ended up landing a record deal with Third Eye Music."The day Third Eye called, I had rented a U-Haul. I was ready to throw in the towel and move back to Vermont," JJ says.Since moving 3k miles away and struggling to get noticed in a new city wasn't enough, once signed the dynamic duo managed to pick a hotel many believe to be haunted to live and write in just to keep things interesting. He began writing their debut album, No Seriously, in the summer of 08' along with the help of their producer Mudrock (A7X, Eighteen Visions) and what the band admitted was “a presence” felt at times. What was produced was a combination of Taking Back Sunday and Blink 182, with a younger twist that received good reviews from critics. With a finished studio album and after a few band lineup changes, From Jupiter has been solidified with the additions of Chris Cormier on Bass and Tom DesLauriers on Guitar. They were chosen as "100 Bands You Need to Know in 09" by AP and played the AP showcase at SXSW with The Used, The Maine, and many others. The band has been touring since the record was released, focusing on playing high schools along the Western US and will be on tour all summer promoting their album at dates on The Warped Tour as well as headlining dates across the country.
that was hysterical that everyone was cheering for one of you rather than the awards. our school doesn't really get involved in much... but if bands would come more often then it would be different. (:
