About From Our Letters(LOOKING FOR A NEW DRUMMER!)
From Our Letters is an act of fate put together by forces outside their own control. Matthew Hagelberger “Hags” and Isaac Eisenhauer “Ish” were randomly paired as roommates during their freshmen year of college and quickly came to realize that they had many of the same goals in common: establish a band that writes music that is both catchy and smart, work hard at it everyday, and play it for anyone who will listen for as long as they possibly can.
They sought to start writing music together with Matthew on guitar and singing, and Isaac on drums. And as fate would have it, the first day they started to write, Jason Beedlow happened to be walking by the door. “I had just moved in to my dorm, and I heard some people jamming, so I asked if I could get my gear and join.” says Jason. “Things just really clicked.” Beedlow quickly caught their eyes and ears with his guitar skills, and the guys immediately asked if he was interested in joining their project. “He had played in a lot of solid Florida bands for about 5 years, so we knew that he could handle that side of the game as well.” Hagelberger said. “So with a solid lead player, we really set out to write some good music and get really tight.”
After rounding out the band with Kyle Woods on Bass, From Our Letters, began to play shows all over Central Florida and quickly started to amass a following. “We really feel that our music connects with people on a personal level,” states Hagelberger. “We try to blend a lot of genres of rock into what we write, because we are all influenced by so many different bands, and we want to appeal to a lot of people. We don’t want to be labeled into just one scene.” It certainly shows with the eclectic list of songs that they play. Radio-friendly melodies combine with driving guitars and a tight rhythm section to drive their sound to something new.
Averaging 8-10 local shows a month since January, and relentless networking has helped From Our Letters amass a decent local following, and earn the ears of some notable locals. They have been honored by many things, most notably with: Rock For Dreams Tour band of the month award, being asked to appear and perform on the nationally broadcasted television show RAW TV (the recording will air in the fall), and being selected for a music compilation by LBM Musiczine which will be distributed nationally at Warped Tour summer.
From Our Letters will enter the studio later this summer to record their first professionally recorded project. “We have a lot of songs that we are really excited about recording.” says Eisenhauer. “They really show how much we have been able to grow as a band musically, even within the past year. They also do a better job at showing the sound that we really want to represent us.
When asked about their plans for the band and how they feel about where it is going, they are eager to respond with hope and enthusiasm. “Music is something that I have always loved and worked hard at since I was 5” says Hagelberger. “Nothing would make me happier than to be able to have my music touch people, and have the honor of doing it as a living.” Let’s hope that fate continues to play in their favor.
