On a chilly night in the foothills of Austin, Texas, Dave Golden sat in the back of a beat-up white tour van, playing his guitar and harmonica. A few feet away, Taylor Davis ran a mix through a small mixing board. There were two microphones set up beside Dave and a longhorn skull wired to the grill.
