About Marshall Jones & the Frontier Phrenologists

"Most of these 16 songs from the local string collective’s debut are short, played at a fast but not exactly furious rate; more a lazy, comfortable hoedown among friends than firebranded jams. And though lyrically the primary quartet plunders a variety of countrified problems—among them thievery, loneliness, infidelity and missing fingers—the sunniness of the album persists through the easy and accomplished style."

—Liz Jones, Austin Sound

"It is the Marshall Jones originals—some of which seem one or two centuries old—that make this CD a MUST for any good collection ... This band just oozes real life and real community-based old-fashioned fun."

—Duggan Flanakin, Flanfire

"This is exactly what I am NOT for. I am ALL ABOUT "entertaining" other people, NOT participating in amateur group musical masturbation. You just don't get it, do you? Your attitude is exactly what has fucked up the music business in this town."

—"Pops" Bayless, Shorty Long

Thanks for supporting an original 100% independant touring honkytonk band!

I'm always looking for new tour stops, so let me know if you know a place
to start hitting up on the road.

Please encourage your friends to take a listen, and help spread the word.

Here's a video of a song that I wrote called "Flathead 8"

We are getting geared up for the 6th St Smokeout, and it's now less than 3 weeks away!

We'll have plenty of pizza, from the Mellow Mushroom, to take care of your munchies, and we'll also have a psychedellic multimedia light show for your viewing pleasure!!

If you don't yet have tix, you can get them here:
http://texasnorml.org/?page_id=408

Also, if you have just a couple minutes to spare, go by Do512 and vote "I Like" on the event page there; it'll keep the Smokeout near the top of the list of events for that day, and the "Higher" we are on the list the better!!!!
The Do512 event page is here:

Thanks for your support!!

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

SPAMED! Can you ever forgive me? If so, please vote for me! I am in Round Two of The TRCoA Unsigned Artist Competition. Help me get to Round Three by clicking my face and voting for me! If I’m in the top 4 I get to play a showcase for record executives and could win 100 free hours in the studio. If I were selected, it would really help me rock some faces off, please take a second and vote.
Thanks! -Ted Hadji
