We are influenced by many bands and types of music. Anything that sounds awesome influences us in some way. Local bands give us hope to what we can possibly acheive. Other influences are Blink-182, Sublime, +44, AvA, The Offspring, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Sum-41, NOFX, Propaghandi, Jimmy Eat World, Feeble, and many others from many different genres.

We are punk, rock, alternative, and all kinds of sounds. It depends on the song. We like how we sound.
Front Line Fighter originated as a dream by two music loving friends wanting to start a band. Cody Smith and George Bubenheim both played guitar and dreamed about having their own band since they were very young. They searched their school for a drummer and bass player to play with and selected the only two people they could think of that played those instruments. Garrett Shaffner was chosen for drums and Cody Burden for bass. ================================================
Unfortunately, all attempts at getting a jam set up ended in failure do to conflicting schedules. The first time that they ever got together to jam was six months later for a social studies class project at the end of their sophmore year (May 2006). After that, the four members of the band from Bellville, Ohio stayed together to write music and play shows in the local scene. ================================================
After only a few months, George Bubenheim (on guitar at the time) quit the band due to interest differences, leaving Front Line Fighter as a three member band. He picked up playing bass guitar and started a new band called Smashyt with Evan Oyster on drums. He asked long time friend Cody Smith to do guitar and vocals for the new band until he could find a permanent member. Smith agreed and Smashyt was born. With Front Line Fighter as Smith’s primary intrest, the two bands played a few shows together with Smith performing for both, but hostility grew between the two bands. Smashyt relieved Smith of his duties to find a replacement. No replacement worked out so the band inevitably ended. ================================================
After about a year, George Bubenheim returned to Front Line Fighter as a bass player bringing new style and diversity to their already developed sound. The chemistry between Smith and Bubenheim was exactly the piece that the band was missing. The three final members of Front Line Fighter have had a rough ride but are now prepared for anything. ================================================
After a few changes and some time, Front Line Fighter has developed their interesting sound. On Guitar and Vocals, Cody Smith mixes punk with heavy riffs, leads, and reggae. On Bass and Vocals, George Bubenheim lays the rhythm and insanely detailed bass lines. On Drums, Garrett Shaffner pounds heavy punk beats that will blow your mind. All together their unique styles fit into one incredible sound. ================================================
The name Front Line Fighter is also significant. The name is often mistaken for being war related. In actuality, the name has nothing to do with actual fighting or warfare of any kind. It simply refers to the battles that people must fight to achieve their dreams, and how they must put everything into that by fighting on the front line.
