Frost won:
-Arezzo Wave Love Festival competition for new coming bands as the "Best new italian band of 2003, presented the album, called "United Condom", at the following Arezzo Wave Love Festival in 2004, where they played as support band for Loue Vega and Groove Armada.
-The italian selection for the television programme "MTV A CUT". Following this exploit, they partecipated in a reality-music show at the Premises Studios in London among the best ten bands in Europe (broadcasted all across Europe).
They are recording the new album of Frost with Marco Capaccioni, Leonardo (Fresco) Beccafichi and Tony Lash at Sound Studio Service of Città di Castello and Tony's Studio in Portland.
STORY
2001: a record by "The President of the U.S.A.", an undergound club in Perugia and a sampler. The friendship between Riccardo Schippa "Ricc" (voice, guitar, laptop, fx) and Jacopo Tittarelli Rubboli "Lapo" (bass, voice, guitar, fx, sampler) was born out of a meeting of two extrovert and charismatic personalities, with a common passion for musical experimentation. The lab experiment started out for fun, but it soon became the first small group of FROST. Later Roberto Gatti "Master" (percussion), Federico Ortica "Mac" (drum, synth) and at last Lorenzo Sementilli "Gimbo" (guitar) joined the group. The philosophy behind their music is basically trial and mistake, where music itself is both the victim and attacker. We could also define it "romantic irony", where all the mistake conjure up for a loud laughter after an explicite joke. The scene in Perugia, in the middle of "musical culture nowhere", didn't help to support the first efforts of FROST: absence of situable clubs (as they never wanted to play in single and privee clubs... a recurrent sight in the desert of the soul that can be the Italian banlieue) and lack of promotion. However, they were exciting times indeed for the band and its first public steps. As a result, the band continued its experimentation with lo-fi loops and a descent towards a laptop or computer music so they created a parallel project: a live set (FROST Dj sexx) where the band played jam sessions using samplers, synthsizer and also more traditional instruments composing music influenced by bossanova, break, house, and glitch music. In 2003/2004 they played with the brit band Pram, the american Pulseprogramming and big latin american artists like Horacio El Negro Hernandez, Robbie Ameen, Denise La Cruz (Master at Work) at the summer jazz festival "Umbria Jazz". They began to appeal to a wider audience and when we say wider, we mean it: not only PC-geeks, lo-fi fanatics and alternative rockers, but also dance floor people and new jazz listeners.Meanwhile the live experience of the group was enriched by new gigs with big artists like the italian Bugo and Yuppie Flu, the american indie legend Karate and the brit Z-star.
2003: FROST won the Arezzo Wave Love Festival competition for new coming bands and they performed on the Psycho Stage with the philosophy You'd better take yourself not too serious". They were so popular at Arezzo Wave that the Arezzo Wave Italia Fondation awarded the band as the "Best new italian band of 2003 and the prize was the recording of an album at Sound Studio Service in Città di Castello (PG). They presented the album, called "United Condom", at the following Arezzo Wave Love Festival in 2004, where they played as support band for Loue Vega and Groove Armada.
2005: FROST made a video for "35 Beat", directed by Giacomo Cimini. They won the italian selection of the television programme MTV A CUT. Following this exploit, they partecipated in a reality-music show at the Premises Studios in London among the best ten bands in Europe (broadcasted all across Europe). Later, FROST played a dj set together with Erlend Oye (King of Convenience) at Rockin Umbria 2005. On 6th of August they played at "Frequenze Disturbate Festival" with: Dinosaur Jr, Yo La Tengo, Echo And Tthe Bunnymen, Blonde Redhead, Sophia, Julian Cope, The Raveonettes, Four Tet and more. FROST played at "Red Zone Club" too, with Soul II Soul. They came back to London to play a gig @ Cargo, in Shoreditch, with all the friends of Mtv A Cut.
2006: They recorded the songs "220 Voltz", "Sveglio Quì" and "Troppi caffè" with Marco Capaccioni at Sound Studio Service in Città di Castello. "Esplicito" with Tony Lash at Sound Studio Service of Città di Castello and Tony's Studio in Portland.
2007: FROST are working on a new cd in italian & english! Soon in all the best music store.
2008: FROST are working on FROST DJ SEXX dance project!!!
BIOGRAFIA FROST
Frost è la brina delle 5 del mattino, quella che ti manda fuori strada!!
L' "electro-phunk" band formata da 5 ragazzi umbri (Ricc,Lapo,Mac,Master,Gimbo) partecipa nel 2003 ad Arezzo Wave come band emergente tra 1400 formazioni.
Risulta la migliore band del festival e si aggiudica la produzione del primo album: “United Condom” e di un videoclip.
Nel 2004 sono ospiti speciali dello stesso festival aretino, questa volta sul palco del Main Stage, al fianco di Little Louie Vega e Groove Armada.
Nel 2005 sono tra le 10 migliori band Europee (unici italiani) a partecipare al reality show: “Mtv A Cut” girato a Londra con Anastacia, Wade Robson e Olivier Behezadi.
L’esperienza inglese matura un progetto al quale tengono da tempo: lavorare con testi in italiano.
Il nuovo ed atteso disco dei Frost, in prossima uscita, segnerà un’altra tappa fondamentale nella storia del gruppo.

STORIA
2001: un disco dei President of the U.S.A., un club underground di Perugia e un campionatore... Nasce così l'amicizia tra Riccardo Schippa "Ricc" (voce, chitarra, laptop, fx, lo-fi, synth ecc) e Jacopo Tittarelli Rubboli "Lapo" (basso, voce, chitarra, fx, sampler, synth ecc): è l'incontro tra due personalità estroverse e carismatiche, che si scoprono profondamente in sintonia grazie alla comune passione per la sperimentazione musicale. L'esperimento da laboratorio iniziato per divertimento, diventerà il primo nucleo dei FROST al quale in seguito si aggiungeranno Roberto Gatti "Master" (percussioni) , Federico Ortica "Mac" (batteria, samplers ecc)ed infine Lorenzo Sementilli "Gimbo" (chitarre). L'idea alla base delle sperimentazioni sonore che fungono da ponti tra musica elettronica e quella emotiva. Le contaminazioni spaziano dal rocknroll al glam, dall'indie al pop presi nella loro accezione più pura e rielaborati secondo la filosofia del trial and mistake. La band muove i suoi primi passi in un ambiente abbastanza stimolante ma non esaltante a causa della mancanza di spazi dove esibirsi e della cultura chiusa tipica della provincia non aiutano. Nonostante questo la sperimentazione prosegue e si arricchisce utilizzando la creazione di loop lo-fi come motori di canzoni pop. L'incontro con il laptop porta la band ad una svolta verso la computer music che trova la sua espressione più forte nella creazione di un progetto parallelo, un live set (FROST Dj Sexx) dove, attraverso l'utilizzo di campionatori, sintetizzatori e anche strumenti più tradizionali, la band si esprime in jam session spaziando dalla bossa nova, alla break, all'house, alla glitch music più sperimentale. Il gruppo suona insieme agli inglesi "Pram", agli statunitensi "Pulseprogramming" e ad esponenti di spicco della musica latina come Horacio El Negro Hernadez, Robbie Ameen, Denise La Cruz (Master at Work) nella sessione estiva di Umbria Jazz Festival. La band acquisisce in questo periodo la consapevolezza che oltre ad un pubblico alternativo e rock può avvicinarsi ad ambienti più legati al dance floor.Intanto le esperienze live dei FROST si arricchiscono con concerti insieme a Bugo, Yuppie Flu, agli statunitensi Karate e all'inglese Z-Star. Nel 2003 il gruppo partecipa alle selezioni nazionali di Arezzo Wave Love Festival, le vince, e si presenta al pubblico dello Psycho Stage come una band irriverente, fuori dagli schemi, ma soprattutto con l'idea di base che: meglio non prendersi mai troppo sul serio. I FROST ricevono parecchi consensi ad AW tanto che la Fondazione del Festival (FAWI) decide di premiare il gruppo come migliore emergente italiano del 2003. Dopo varie date in Italia e in Croazia, i FROST entrano al Sound Studio Service di Città di Castello per registrare il loro primo lavoro in studio. Ne uscirà un disco chiamato United Condom presentato in concomitanza con Arezzo Wave 2004, nel quale la band si esibisce prima di due mostri sacri della musica dance: Louie Vega e Groove Armada. Nel 2005 i FROST realizzeranno il video relativo al singolo 35 Beat (regia di Giacomo Cimini).Vincono le selezioni italiane di MTV A-cut e partecipano alla trasmissione-reality a Londra tra le dieci migliori band europee (in onda in tutta Europa, in Italia dal 5 al 18 settembre). Suonano con il loro Dj Set insieme a Erlend Oye dei Kings of Convenience nell' edizione di Rockin Umbria 2005. Il 6 di Agosto sono al "Frequenze Disturbate Festival" con: Dinosaur Jr, Yo La Tengo, Echo And The Bunnymen, Blonde Redhead, Sophia, Julian Cope, The Raveonettes, Four Tet e altri. Il 10 Settembre al "Red Zone Club" di spalla a Soul II Soul. Tornano a Londra al Cargo di Shoreditch suonando con tutti gli amici di Mtv A Cut.2006. Registrano "220 Voltz", "Sveglio Quì" e "Troppi Caffè" al Sound Studio Service di Città di Castello con Marco Capaccioni, Leonardo "FRESCO" Beccafichi e Alberto Brizzi. "Esplicito" viene invece registrata con Tony Lash al Sound Studio Service e a Portland nello studio di Tony.
2007: i FROST stanno lavorando al nuovo cd che uscirà presto seguito da un tour in Italia e in Europa. Il progetto prevede canzoni in italiano e in inglese!!!
2008: si lavora sul nuovo progetto FROST DJ SEXX!!
