Sounds Like
The bastard love-child of "Drive By Truckers" and Nanci Griffith: a bluegrass approach with the energy of rock n roll and the smooth jazzy feel of Norah Jones. Gene Vincent meets Ryan Adams, perhaps. How does one describe Americana when its purposely attempting to push the limits of the genre?
We began as mutual friends who ended up jamming at Andy's next door neighbor's place. Like most bands, it just kinda grew from there.
We started out doing traditional bluegrass and gospel and adapting other songs into that style (see the "Atomic City Breakdown" CD). We then slid into original music in a more acoustic Americana style (see the upcoming "Wake Up" CD). Now we're on a path toward plugging in and doing it a bit more in the rock style. Maybe we'll do some rockabilly, maybe we'll do more rock blues work. We've got a ton more original music between us, in a variety of styles. Stay tuned and find out!
