With the final preparations for "Dark Seasons Of Sorrow" pretty much out of the way, I have started writing brand new material for the next full length Frozen Mist album. The music is heavier, faster and blacker than "Dark Seasons Of Sorrow." Lyrically, the story will be based solely upon paranormal and supernatural horrors. The story basically continues from "Dark Seasons Of Sorrow", but goes more in-depth and further in detail. That's about all I can really say right now, but keep your eyes peeled for more upcoming news!!!

In the late summer ov 2007, half ov the new album is finished. Walt went thru some personal struggles and we agreed that he could not continue with finishing the last half ov the "Dark Seasons Of Sorrow" CD. Richard Baysinger from Fateless Tears was then asked to finish the lead guitar parts for the last half ov the new album. Between the months ov September and October 2007, there was no communication between Katarina and myself. S. Lee, also from Fateless Tears, was then asked to complete the female vocals for the last half ov the new album.
The upcoming album, entitled "Dark Seasons Of Sorrow" is a huge change musically. It will feature quite a bit of progressive and technical thrash metal melodies with off-time signatures. This CD will be distributed and released by our new record label Mournful Moon Productions my label Capcomia Studios sometime this Spring 2008. The complete artwork is used by permission and is modeled/photomanipulated by Heiðrún Þórðardóttir.
Frozen Mist started off as a basic gothic metal solo project in February 2004 by me, Jamie, because I felt a need to write music and to support the metal scene by utilizing a few PC programs to compose the music, since I don't own any instruments. I write all original music and all original lyrics. Musically & lyrically, Frozen Mist is a genre ov music that I classify as "Dark Melodic Fantasy Metal." Frozen Mist is influenced by excellent bands such as Overkill, Serpentia, King Diamond, Orphanage, Eternal Gray and The Project Hate MCMXCIX just to name a few.
A year later in the wintery beginnings of 2005, I drastically changed the music styles leaning onto more ov lush fantasy and beautiful horror environments from my mind onto pieces ov paper and into the music that is written. In the first half ov 2005, I've engaged in experimenting with different musical elements such as Electro Hi-Q's, industrial sounds and background drum loop patterns, hence I then later took these ideas and the side project Mournful Cries Wept Mist was born. Frozen Mist meshes the perfect balance ov horror and beauty.
A few internet collaborations from women online have helped out with vocals in the past which has given Frozen Mist that sort ov old school "gothic" feel torwards the music with their harmonic, yet beautiful operatic/soprano melodies, thus creating an "original" sound with all ov the above combined.
The Frozen Mist album entitled "Weeping Redolence" released right after Christmas 2005 has really turned some heads on quite a few people. The very first official review has been written by Matt Hensch and can be read over at his review site here.
The "Godforsaken" album released on August 19th, 2006 features front cover photomanipulation artwork done by Amanda Abram and matches exactly very well with the lyrics and music for this CD. The lyrical content behind "Godforsaken" is simply all about desolation, isolation, complete hatred and infinite sadness. Matt Hensch's review for this CD can be viewed over here.
The "Sapphiric" CD was pretty much just a rush job. I started work on this during the "Godforsaken" sessions because I had recieved new guitar samples in the Summer ov 2006 and really wanted to quickly experiment with them, hence its quick release in late October 2006.
After the release of "Sapphiric", I decided it was time to move forward with the band. So, Walt Davis was asked to join Frozen Mist and play lead guitar for the band in October 2006. During the winter months ov 2006-2007, there has been several lineup changes with trying to find a permanent female vocalist to complete the next album. So finally in June 2007, I put out an advert banner on trying to find a "permanent" fix in the Williamsport/Lycoming County area. With absolutely no luck from the banner, my last resort was to ask the haunting female soprano voice ov Katarina Rose from the "Godforsaken" album to rejoin for the new CD, thus Frozen Mist was reborn!!
