   About Fritz Schenker
Currently an ethnomusicology student at University of Wisconsin. Previously a composer, pianist, fake accordionist and shaker/hitter of miscellaneous instruments. Formerly Jazz Music Director for WNUR, Chicago's Sound Experiment (www.wnur.org)---------------------------- "Evening Stroll" and "Souls 2" are originals for my nonet project from 2005-2006. Featuring Joe Feruzzo - trumpet, Matt Martin - tenor, soprano sax, Matt Oliphant - french horn, Dan Berkowitz - trombone, Adam Gross - trombone, Noa Even - bari sax, myself - piano, Robert Meier - bass, Brent Jordan - drums.-------------- "Clarinet Quintet" is a poorly-recorded version of a clarinet quintet I wrote summer of 2006 featuring some Northwestern music students.-------------------------- "Collina," a song I wrote with Andrew Hill in mind, features Matt Martin - tenor sax, Rob Meier - bass, Max Krucoff - drums, and myself.--------------------for videos of performances on accordion, guitar (w/ butter knife), home-made percussion, bamboo flute, recorder, mbira, misc. and house-hold objects visit: http://bighouse.northwestern.edu ---- go to "ghost of a dance" and then view performances. This was for "Bighouse Disclosure," a multi-media piece by Keith+Mende Obadike where three of us performed 4 variations of 25 different graphic scores
