Changing your bulbs is a great way to save energy usage and costs as well as reduce your ecological footprint. California is considering banning all incandescent bulbs and switching to CFLs - which we think is an awesome idea. It only takes a few minutes! (And don't forget to dispose of them properly after use.)
Stop by the office, Oglesby Union A224 to find out more.

Last week, the Florida State Legislature passed Senate Bill 360 the so called "Community Renewal Act" which is an attack on communities that want planned growth to protect the quality of life of residents, control costs, and protect public health and the environment.
Senate Bill 360 would allow developers to gobble up sensitive and rural lands by easing restrictions, extending building permits and allowing unchecked development. Take action now: Tell Gov. Crist to veto SB 360.
For Florida residents, this bill would put large-scale "Developments of Regional Impact" like Lennar's proposed Parklands project on a fast track. Thousands of new residential homes could be built in sensitive areas like the Everglades with no review by the state's growth management agency to ensure that roads, schools and other services can handle it.
Communities across Florida establish growth management plans for a reason. Don't let the Florida Legislature give a green light to developers while leaving the public to fight for services, endure traffic jams, water shortages and failing infrastructure.

The feeling of peace in your heart, after lifes lessons ... The joy of flying, of freedom & of love. The essence of the "feeling" of being "Centered".
A feeling there are but few words to describe ~ it's of love & respect, excitement & calm ... a place of perspective, the center of peace. A place once you have been there, your faith will increase. A feeling of knowing not in futures untold, but that whatever life brings you will carry on.
The courage to look on into the sky, to gaze from the heights to the earth far below, to feel the wind rush straight to your soul. Your life will never be what it once was. You'll find new beauty in the places you live & the Smiles you share will come from the depths of your heart. The joys that it brings you will be the feeling of light; with the Wings of an Eagle ... The freedom of Flight.
Those who HOPE in the LORD will renew their STRENGTH; they will SOAR on wings like EAGLES ~ Isaiah 40:31

Relationships - of all kinds - are like sand held in your hand. Held loosely with an open hand, the sand remains where it is. The minute you close your hand & squeeze tightly to hold on, the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold on to some of it, but most will be spilled.
A relationship is like that. Held loosely, with respect & freedom for the other person, it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively & the relationship slips away & is lost.
Come See Us Compete for "BATTLE OF THE TITLE" on May 8th @ Area 7 Music & Ale in Ft Lauderdale. We are in the FINALS & hope to see you there. Hope you & your family have a blessed & ROCKin week & thanks for your support!

Ten DANK things you can do to help legalize marijuana (in no particular order).
1. Write a letter to a policy maker. This can be local, state or federal level-if we all take the time to do this it makes a huge difference. Take a few minutes to an hour to draft a letter-then once a week take five minutes-send it to a different official, when there is a bill related to marijuana you will have a good base. DANK recommends using a government website or visiting http://www.makepotlegal555.org to find address information for legislators.
2. Encourage others to write their legislators-each time you write to one, pass the name and address around to your like minded friends-get them writing in, too.
3. Volunteer for a Pro-Cannabis event! Look on online, maybe there is one in your area-there are several on the DANKinfo website and at least once volunteer for Seattle Hempfest-you will be impacted in unimaginable ways. For more info: http://hempfest.org/drupal/Volunteers
4. Attend a Pro-Cannabis event! Bring your friends and family members-especially those that would like to be better educated on the drug war and related issues. See the DANKinfo website for a list and once again, I must say (maybe I am biased) at least once in your life attend Seattle Hempfest-the third week of August. See http://www.hempfest.org/drupal for more info. Another good choice is the Global Marijuana March (www.globalmarijuanamarch.org). Check the website for it-there is likely a march planned near you—if not see #9
5. Support organizations such as LEAP, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (http://www.leap.cc/cms/index.php), where the proponents of changing the law are those whom have enforced it and seen the failures first hand. Methods of support include donating, volunteering, passing out fliers, attending events, passing on info, re-posting MySpace bulletins, etc.
6. Donate money to those organizations who are influencing policy change-great examples are NORML (www.norml.org),
