Auckland Metal band FUELSET’s line-up was solidified in 2005 and since then they’ve been busy taking their music to the masses performing shows in both Aussie and New Zealand. 2009 marks the release of this band’s debut album ‘Tear It Down’ and when it comes to writing and recording they’ve been right on the money here - quality production and plenty of musical variation ranging from the tribal rhythms of the intro track, to thrashy Hardcore, to a classic audio sample taken from the movie ‘Way Of The Gun’ and even a melodic ballad entitled ‘The Blood Corporation’.
Two of the songs on this release ‘The Everchanging’ and ‘Breakdown’ were recorded in early 07′ at York St Studios with Andrew Buckton behind the mixing desk. Both those tracks have some subtle but effective synths thrown into the mix which nicely enhance the atmosphere. That’s not to say the rest of the recording is lacking in any way though because I really dig the mix there as well. The whole recording has a really full sound from the guitar-work and also from a nicely laid down bass guitar riffage which packs plenty of low end punch - sounds kinda like Fieldy from KORN playing!
15 tracks of great Kiwi Metal, this is an impressive debut release from FUELSET and one that’s given me great desire to see the band performing live. Head on over to FUELSET’s Website check them out for yourself!

We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
