Fugues is a collective/nebula created in Paris in 2005. Today refocused around the tandem formed by founding member Jerome Olivier (words & ideas) and Julie Calbert (photographs), Fugues was originally a collection of interviews, contemplative prose writings and photographies published in 2006. This single eponymous 'magazine' gave birth to a healthy series of concerts and festivals in Paris, France : Fugues concerts, festivals Meeting People Is Easy, merry.go.round evenings. Exhausted by the ambient mediocrity, Fugues put an end to its live activities in summer 2008 after having hosted and supported the first steps in France by artists such as The Sleeping Years, July Skies and Epic45. Fugues has launched a series of CD-R compilations (the 'Unreleased tracks' trilogy) in 2007.
We would like to raise the sails. Abandon those who brood, those who separate. Feeling the heat of August and its stars, patient until the end of the day. We yearn for twilight, blue, loneliness. Small things that move about our empty spaces. We would like a few diversions too. Lights, blurred lines. December's skies. Something that stretches under the sheets and shivers only when it doesn't speak. Some ghosts, sighing bridges, arched churches and then the moon under a curtain of mist. Awakening in silence upon hearing singing at night and observing from afar the surroundings, a vacuum, the absence: our shadows almost asleep.

Aymeric Hainaux, aussi connu pour son travail graphique, sera cette fois seul avec sa voix, son corps et son harmonica. Ce marcheur/auto-stoppeur infatigable (il fait toutes ses tournées en auto-stop) propose une performance à la voix et au souffle, brute, poétique, voguant entre silence, frottements, beatbox et masse sonore intense, laissant une part de choix à l'improvisation.
And Also The Trees débute une tournée de dix concerts en France à la fin du mois d’octobre 2009 dont une soirée à Paris, au Café de la Danse, le 30 octobre. Où que vous habitiez, le groupe passe forcément près de chez vous. Réservez vos places !
Suite au succès de sa tournée européenne de juin dernier, And Also The Trees est déjà de retour en France pour dix nouvelles dates.
Groupe culte de la période post-punk au même titre que Joy Division et produit par Robert Smith, And Also The Trees sortait au printemps dernier un nouvel album, When the Rains Come. Un très beau disque acoustique qui revisite le répertoire du groupe anglais et dont Les Inrockuptibles ont écrit qu’il s’agissait là du "meilleur album des Tindersticks, haut la main."
Recentrés pour l'occasion autour de Simon Huw Jones au chant, Justin Jones à la guitare acoustique, Ian Jenkins à la contrebasse et Emer Brizzolara au dulcimer, And Also The Trees dévoilera lors de cette série de concerts un nouvel EP vinyle en édition strictement limitée à paraître avant le début de l’hiver chez Les Disques du 7ème Ciel.
