About me:

.msc {scrollbox code}
The name's Justin. Some call me “The Richter Scale,” the “Full Metal Drummer” or just “Jay.”
I'm a semi-pro drummer out of Clarkston, MI.
I've been playing drums since I was about 3-4 years old, self taught.
I play drums for a heavy rock band called "Ballz Deluxe." Check them out at www.myspace.com/ballzdeluxe or in my top friends.

I also occupy the drum throne for an intelligent metal project called BioMachine, (as of February 2009) with my former Suicide Nation bandmate Ken Williams. You can check out BioMachine at www.myspace.com/biomachineusa
Note, the track on the page is not my drumming, but there will be recordings with my drumming soon.

I've played in and have formed numerous metal bands throughout the years such as Acts of Aggression/Suicide Nation, Through The Ashes, Corpsle, AKA (American Killing Association) and others. I’m also available for session/studio work from time to time at a reasonable rate.

I'm a freelance graphic design artist/general artist, available for hire at a reasonable rate. Contact me if you'd like some work done. You can see some of my graphic work in my pictures under the "Artwork" album, and you can see an example of my myspace layout design and graphic skills by visiting a few pages I have done and maintain at
www.myspace.com/ballzdeluxe
www.myspace.com/akametal
www.myspace.com/dragonfirestudios1

I am a metal drummer at heart, and metal music is in my blood, but I'm very open minded to listening and playing different styles of music.
I'm somewhat of a drum geek and I find myself frequently indulging in conversations about anything related to drums, when with fellow drummers. It's a drummer thing, you wouldn't understand unless you are one. Kind of like how car guys get together and start talking about cars and car parts and engines and such.

I'm also a guitar player/songwriter in my freetime. You can check out some of my solo stuff that I've written and recorded myself, or written with past bands at
www.myspace.com/therichterscale20 or in my top friends.
I'm a very expressive, creative person and I express best through music. Music is how I bleed.
Down to earth, laid back and very open minded. So if you're cool, then we're cool.
I live life by the words "Forever Stronger Than All,", as the motto of Pantera.
High school graduate of Clarkston/Renaissance High School, class of 2007.
I support our troops, I have family and close friends serving our country.

I'm a pretty lively person, fun and humorful, easy to get along with.
I’m bold but I have a heart.
I'm honest with people, because it's right.
Guns do not kill people, people kill people.
I believe in being original and individual
I’m artistic.
I’m creative.
I'm unconventional, as in thinking outside of the box
I've been told I am way more mature than my age
But doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun
I like video games.
I’m computer savvy.
I wear my heroes and my influences on my sleeve.
I can be outspoken at times
I'm not afraid to voice my opinions and views, logically, constructively and intelligently

I'm observant, which is why I'm not your average Joe. I have observed many negative qualities in other people in everday settings like relationships, friendships and human interaction and have chosen to not take on those qualities. Which explains why I'm not a typical guy

I avoid physical altercations at all costs
But that doesn't mean I won't put up a good fight if I'm put into a position where physical force is necessary

I’m always up for a good time with friends.
I’m strong willed.
I fight for what I love and I love what I fight for
I hate conflict.
I’ve loved and lost, but who hasn’t?
My past has made me who I am and given me pretty thick skin.
I don’t live the stereotypical “rockstar life” even though I’m in a successful band.
I don't live a life of excess because I'm in a band. Don't accuse me of it.
Don't badger me about my problems, I'm completely aware of my problems
Don't hold me to a lower standard and put me in a bad light because "you're more successful than I am." That's egotism.
I hold people to their word. You tell me you're gonna do something for me, you better follow through with it.
I read people pretty well
I don’t like egos or self centered people, judgmental people, or fake people.
Pop culture is poisoning our society and is a mindless brainwashing tactic.
I'm not a fan of ebonics, it's another form of illiteracy and lazy way of speaking English.
I don't like typing "lyke dis" or spelling words like "wuz" and "dat" "cuz" it makes "u" look like an lazy, uneducated, illiterate fool.
I don't understand the cat pictures with the captions.
YouTube comment arguments are the most mindless, ridiculous thing I've ever seen. No matter who wins, you both still look like idiots for arguing like children on the internet.
Joey Jordison is not the greatest drummer to ever touch a pair of drumsticks
Internet stupidity annoys me.
Support the local music scene!
Musicians are not "uneducated, unemployed slackers who go nowhere in life." In fact, musicians are probably the most creative, talented people on this planet and some do make a living by playing music.
Just because I listen to heavy/extreme metal doesn't mean I'm barbaric, unruly, Satanic, loud, angry, crazy, drug addicted or any other ignorant stereotype that is put on metal heads. I'm far from that.
I value my family, my friends, those I hold close to me, and music the most in life.
Some say I'm modest, some say I'm a good person, some say that I'm extremely talented at whatever I do, some say I have a big heart. Some say that the person I am on the inside is nothing like the image I portray on the outside, and that who I am on the inside, is something they would not expect from a long haired metal drummer. I guess that's just who I am.
FOREVER STRONGER THAN ALL!!!!!!!
If you've made it this far, I commend you for actually taking the time to learn a little bit about me. Anything else you wanna know, just message me. There’s more to me than just a webpage.

Who I'd like to meet:

In no particular order: Other musicians, new people that share the same interests, other drummers, anybody that's into rock or metal, open minded people, Dimebag Darrell, when my time comes, Vinnie Paul, Zakk Wylde, Slayer, (and Kerry King, again) Angela Gossow, Rob Halford, Tom Green, Ozzy, Metallica, (Lars was the reason why I started playing drums) King Diamond, Richard Marcinko, the rest of Machine Head, (I met Adam and Rob) Chris Adler, Bobby Jarzombek, Gene Hoglan, Phil Anselmo, Down, the list could go on........... not to sound starstuck or anything.
