A Community and Family Orientated Full Moon Event celebrating the Fine Original Music of Austin, Texas and the World Beyond
Hosted by the lovely and talented LEEANN ATHERTON, an Austin musician and mother, this community and family event celebrates the fine original music of Austin, Texas and the world beyond with friends, dancing, and a potluck dinner to share.
The Barn Dance occurs on occasional full moon Sundays and some holiday Sundays (Valentines Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter) so each Barn Dance has its own unique personality ... Everyone is responsible for the good time!
Open Mic starts the music around 4:00 in the afternoon (sign up to play), the Bar-B-Que pits are fired and smokin', professional chefs make sure its all good, then the special guest artists and the full moon get us having a howlin' good time. The campfire after the dance is strictly acoustic. Generous hearts make it all work.
This Wonderful Event provides you with the following: Paid and Volunteer Professional Musicians, Professional Sound System and Sound Crew, Porta-Potty Rental and Removal, Volunteer Event Prep and Clean Up Crews, Potluck Grill, Cooks, Ice Chests and Ice, Plates, etc., Beautiful Decorated Party Venue, and Local Benefit Cause Support.
You are asked to please bring the following:
$10-$15 CASH DONATION PER PERSON AND POTLUCK TO SHARE such as Food for Grill, Covered Prepared Dish, (prepared food from the grocery store is fine), Beverages.
or
$15-$20 CASH DONATION PER PERSON without POTLUCK
Please no large bills.
CAN"T AFFORD TO MAKE A CASH DONATION? Save a little all month long... or VOLUNTEER ...Volunteers needed Saturday prior and Sunday at noon (after 2pm Sunday is TOO LATE for that Barn Dance) to help set up, Sunday night and Monday daytime to pick up trash, haul trash and recycling to the street, and tables stored away.
PLEASE REMEMBER ... No Dogs, No Unaccompanied Minors (Bring your parents!), No Glass Containers, Park Smart and Respect our Neighbors Driveways, Use Recycle and Garbage Containers, and please don't leave your cigarette butts on the ground.
GUEST LIST ... There is no guest list except for Prearranged Volunteer Musicians and Cooks, Prearranged Volunteer Event Prep and Clean-Up Crew.

Check out our Valentine's, Rainbow Family Legal Fund Benefit Concert, in Austin Texas, to raise money to cover legal expenses, arising from busts at the Rainbow Gathering. We have a great line-up: 12 AM - "Flounders Without Eyes" - Austin's best Psychedelic Jam Band (W/ Bluegrass Influences) 11 PM - "Leeann Atherton" - Texas' premier Roots 'n Blues Chanteuse! 10 PM - "Cooper's Uncle" - One of Central Texas' best Bluegrass Bands! 9 PM - "Irie Jane" - Austin's Historic All Girl, Reggae Band, W/ Legendary Sax man Mark Wilson! 8 PM - "Afrogenesis" - Afro-beat/Funk/Soul, Big Band with complete Rhythm Section & Horn-line 7 PM - "Burro Magic" - Hip-Hop/Rapper Extraordinaire 6 PM - "Mr. Brown" - Infamous Roots/Reggae/Rock 'n Roller We'll be starting @ 6:00 PM, with a different band each hour until closing, and at 1:00AM, we'll be having an All Star Jam with members of all the earlier bands and a few surprise guests! Leeann, Hey, thanks for letting me and Grace (Pettis) play the last Barn Dance of the year! What great weather, great folks, hospitality and food!! Toni and Rich were magic as always, as were the open mic'ers. And you were fantastic on and off stage.
This was our first time as featured performers - we had an absolute blast. South Austin at it's best!

Full Moon Sunday Barn Dance ! YOW! I am so excited to be playing with Rich Brotherton at the December Barn Dance and really looking forward to David Llewellyn, Grace Pettis and special guest, TP!! But most of all, I relish in soaking up the beautiful vibe from all the Barn Dancers... Love, Leeann
