About me:

I am a writer and historian with wide-ranging interests, although most of my published work has focused on the history of the Australian code of football. I am extremely fortunate at present to be able to call the charming city of Lincoln, in England, home. Most of my time is spent either writing, or thinking about writing, although only a very small percentage of what I write could ever be regarded as appropriate for human consumption. Of that which is, a fair amount is religious in nature - if, like me, you regard 'religion' as any kind of profoundly held irrational obsession. In my case, this profoundly held irrational obsession is centered on the sport of Australian football in all its multifarious manifestations, from the sleek (if increasingly anodyne) world of the AFL, to impromptu kick to kick sessions at the local park or on the beach. I decided to compile this blog because I was curious about the motivations, both underlying and overt, fuelling my obsession.
