Full Propulsion is Riu, xFilter and Charlienoise. This project was formed early 2007 in Lisbon and its music has been described as powerful and uplifting full on basses and leads with a pinch of Goa and Psy.
Riu plays the guitar and began his journey into music with grunge and heavy metal, moving on to progessive rock and classic music, drum and bass, lounge, bossa-nova, jazz and Arabic music. Full-on, Goa and Psytrance revealed themselves as the turning point from music to sound. He views electronic music production as a modern form of composition where the composer has the freedom to create artificial and natural sounding instruments by means of sound synthesis, arranging them for story telling and creating a kaleidoscopic motion picture in the mind of the listener: synesthesia.
Charlienoise’s passion for electronic music blossomed when he was 13. From that point onwards this musical language became part of him. He started Djing when at the age of 16, mixing house and techno and listening to trance at the same time. In 1999 he moved to the trance scene, going to parties and festivals that had goa trance in the main line up turning into his favourite music style. With this project he believes he has the opportunity to continue work that started some years ago.
Music became part of xFilter when he was child. At the age of 10 he was already listening to bands like The Queen, Dire Straits, Lenny Kravitz, Paul Simon, Simon and Garfunckle, The Police and many others music styles such as classic music and jazz. He started to listen to Guns and Roses, Nirvana, and Metallica when he was 12 and entered the metal and hardcore scene ending up as a vocalist in a metal grunge ska band at the age of 16.
We are inspired by our experiences and by our friends, reflections of who and what we are.
Our debut is Just Trying, soon to be released by Midway Station Records in V.A. Synthonized Fields featuring artists Holophonik, Rastaliens, Digicult, Menog, Cosmotech, Mr. Peculiar and Suria.
2009 has been a year of change, commitment and cooperation. We felt the need to diversify and we’re now based in Tokyo (Riu) and Lisbon (xFilter and Charlienoise) to bring to light new opportunities to spread our music, to be closer to our friends and supporters and to evolve as producers exploring new paths.
