About me: I'm a Colombian citizen who had been living, as an international student, in Orlando since the summer of 1996. I left at the end of April 2005 to pursue my PhD in Nevada. So I've been an international student for over a decade. Which sounds like it should be some sort of record but is probably not so strange. I teach composition, creative writing, and world literature. I'm a compulsive writer, an even more compulsive reviser, and a wide and indiscriminate reader. I am also an equally wide and indiscriminate appreciator of television (I will sit through anything!), movies (zombies preferred! but other subjects are acceptable: I enjoy the difficult, the offbeat, the feel-bad, and the distinct imprint of an interesting personality on any project), and ephemera (discarded notes, half-heard conversations, graffiti, billboards, fliers, abandoned doodles). I'm working on a novel right now. Actually, I should be working on the novel right now, instead of revising this profile, so I'm going to get back to that.
