    Fundamentalz was officially formed in 2002 between MC’s Fortafy aka Sam Ratumaitavuki and Exbozay aka Zane McMahon whilst attending Wesley College in Paerata, Auckland, New Zealand. It is here the duo first met. Wesley offered the mischievous pair the chance to listen to rap and hip hop music. The pair began to write lyrical rhymes whilst hiding from teachers and missing classes. Their early influences are classic hip hop artists Talib Kweli, Nas, Consequence, and to the more recent artists Jay Z and Kanye West. In 2003 MC Fortafy moved to Australia to finish his secondary schooling .2007 saw MC Expozay move to Australia to continue work with Fundamentalz. Australian hip hop is unique over the last decade it has evolved and developed its own sound. Fundamentalz too are unique with their music, “we call our music KOOL HOP as we like to think we make it cool to tell the truth about real situations, which people can identify with”. For the past year the group Fundamentalz have been building a name in Brisbane as local freestylers and battle rappers. Earlier this year MC Fortafy won the Buddha Breaks Tri State Championships. Fundamentalz are constantly performing at different venues in the Brisbane area. In November this year saw Fundamentalz open for international hip hop artist, The Game. The focus now for the group is pushing the ep THE KOOL TRUTH which is produced by soulchef .
