FUNK-AFFAIR! is the idea of REAL's Louise Pollock who recently has made a name for herself as one of the leading UK funk/soul singer-songwriters and with Winston Rollins, her partner in REAL, has achieved considerable critical acclaim. She enlisted the help of trumpeter Dan Carpenter and Jamiroquai's Derrick McKenzie to form the core of FUNK-AFFAIR! and now have a monthly spot at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club. This has proved a great success and has seen Louise bring in vocalist/percussionist Daniel Pearce from time to time along with various guest singers and musicians not least Jamiroqaui's Rob Harris and Paul Turner as well as Sam Grimley, a fine young keyboard player and vocalist.
The band has regularly performed at Ronnies and grown into a popular monthly feature at the club. From April '09 the line-up will change to feature new funk talent + some established names.

You guys are ALL the absolute, utter bomb. I had such a brilliant time last month at your gig at Ronnie's Im bringing some different friends this time, can't wait. Silly me not booking ahead, got not so good seats but either way, can't wait and have a brilliant show :-)

But Ronnie Scott told me that they'll switch my tickets into a credit note for another gig so I won't lost the money and I'll surely come on January or February.
