Funk Club Inc is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting music and creating a vibrant community lifestyle in the name of good times!
Starting in mid 2003 at the Woodbridge Hotel, Funk Club was formed with the aim of hosting a night where fun, funky people could regularly go and know theyll have a fun time whilst checking out a quality musical act. It wasnt until late 2003 after moving to a central location, the Leederville Hotel, Funk Club exploded onto the local scene and became a regular weekly Friday night landmark for over 3 years. Having established a regular music night, produced a compilation CD and played host to numerous local concerts and events with an ever increasing audience, in August 2005 Funk Club became fully incorporated. With newfound focus the Funk Club truly began its mission: to foster and develop Funk and related genres across the nation with a tour accross Australia early 2007!
Going into its 4th year, Funk Club has expanded from Leederville and now holds its regular friday nights at the Rosemount Hotel. With a broadening outlook Funk Club is now linking with national and international organisations and performers establishing touring circuits, planning festivals and providing an alternative lifestyle experience for those who seek it.
"Funk Club" hosts regular funk nights at great venues around Perth and even Australia which include Devilles, Double Lucky and the The Flying Scotsman in Perth. The third Saturday of the month Funk club hosts a night at The Laundry in Fitzroy. with the best music talent in Australia and around the world. Good times! with live funk bands and DJ's, and funky, friendly, happy people! Previous acts include: Cat Empire, Z-Trip feat Soup from J5, Amp Fiddler, Norman Jay, The Bamboos, Mo Horizons and many, many more! Depending on guest performers, entrance fees range from $5 - $60.
