FUNKED SQUAD live on March 22nd 2006 at Grenoble: VIDEOS ONLINE at the bottom of this page. It's a great memory for us. We had the pleasure and the opportunity to open for the band named Hocus Pocus (www.hocuspocus.fr www.onandon-records.com), which is probably the greatest French Hip Hop band today. I've never seen such an incredible live performance than the Hocus Pocus one, except maybe Amp Fiddler at Montreux in 2004 and Femi Kuti last summer at Chambery... Thanks to everybody who came and encouraged us, who gave us props after the show, and who got wild helpin' us feel good. Fuck the others, who "talk the talk", but never "walk the walk". Hope you'll enjoy these videos.

We, the FUNKED SQUAD, play... our own definition of Hip Hop, replayin' live some classics, and it's a beautiful thing cause the French crowds gets wild when we get live. It warms our hearts. We mix different songs together, from old Soul to modern Hip Hop, from Jazz to Rock, Funk to Reggae, Punk to Drum'n'Bass. I put my own flows and lyrics on it, and we replay these freedom songs our own way. We do it mostly to promote the Hip Hop culture in France, such as all the A Tribe Called Quest / Q-Tip / Jay Dee legacy for example, because these geniuses are nearly unknown in our country!!!!!! So we do it to restore the Truth. But we don't do only covers Then we, the Funked Squad, really compose some songs. You'll hear it soon. A fusion of rythms, ideas, musicS, flows, instruments, turntables freakin', and energies, mostly funky. And we work hard on it. But y'all musicians know it's hard to record something in your modest home studio and bein' satisfied enough to put it on your own myspace.
