FUNKFEST ON SATURDAY JULY 11TH 2009 AT THE STEAMBOAT TAVERN, IPSWICH WITH SMALL TOWN BULLIES, SOUTH OF THE BORDER, HOUSEWORK AND HEAD-FULL. ENTRY £5 ON THE DOOR INLUDING FOOD SERVED AT AROUND 9PM. THE FUNK WILL GET UNDERWAY AT AROUND 5.30PM. The concept of FunkFest is simple: fantastic live funk bands with funky DJing in between the bands. The idea is to a) provide a platform for funk bands to perform to a crowd of dedicated funk followers and to check out other funk bands in the area, b) to give the people out there who properly appreciate funk music the perfect night and c) educate a few people who aren't familiar with funk about just what a great genre of music it is. FunkFests have so far only taken place at the Steamboat Tavern in Ipswich and there will be more there during 2008. I’ll also be taking FunkFest to Zing Wine Bar in Ipswich during 2008 and hopefully to other towns in East Anglia. See you at a FunkFest soon!
COME AND JOIN US AT THE SPA PAVILION FELIXSTOWE FOR THE SOUNDWAVES "ULTIMATE BANDS CONTEST '09"!! WE STILL HAVE SOME PLACES AVAILABLE FOR BANDS TO ENTRY TOO!!

Brandnew 7inch OUT NOW SERIOUS SOUL feat. John Turrell
this 7" comes in pure pristine white vinyl and is strictly limited to 400 copies! There will be NO digital release of these tracks until next album is coming out Starting as an instrumental among all of the new thrilling demos from the forthcoming Bahama Soul Club's album, John Turrell from "Smoove&Turrell" was directly inspired by this track, adding his "from the heart" lyrics about collecting rare vinyl and vinyl junkies. A gospel flavoured and soul powered homage to those sought after, original 7's on a funky bahama bossa.
Immediately released just as it was sung on the first take, rawly arranged to save that genuine feel from John's first recorded ideas.
It's much more than an appetizer, it's really a gem, that you shouldn't miss!
