Formed during October of 2007, ‘Funk In Public’ was an idea spawned by Anthony Devine and David Wilkinson, two mates who have been jamming and playing in bands together since 2004. The premise was to make a band that brought together all their influences in Funk, Jazz, Blues, Hip-Hop and Alternative. Within weeks Travis Percy joined playing rhythm and lead guitar which helped complete the grounding for Funk In Public. Soon after, Lady Lash (Crystal Mastrosavas) joined to provide vocals to the mix. Finally, having known Jeremy Blamey for some years, Dave recruited his talent to add Saxophone and Keyboard to complete the sound of Funk In Public.
Funk In Public are based in Melbourne, Victoria, and their style is a mixture of Funk, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Alternative and Hip-Hop. The goal of the band is to play dynamic and accurate music, while keeping the focus on live energy and enjoyment. They have recently recorded a demo at Three Phase Studios in Melbourne, and have been playing live shows since November of 2007. They have thus far been featured on ‘NoiseTV’ (December, 2007), Mp3.com.au, Triple J Unearthed and are scheduled for numerous upcoming shows and festivals locally in Melbourne, and around Australia.
Hello there, just passing by to spread the word that my LP, Earthworthy, will be out very soon and available to purchase via paypal on my myspace, and hopefully at other vaguely respectable outlets here and there... Until the LP drops I have a bunch of tracks from the album up on my myspace player, if you are bored or feel inclined to listen. I also have 2 film clips for tracks from the album, 1 currently unreleased and the other is on my myspace and on youtube.
Earthworthy is sixteen tracks of hot sex featuring Thorts, Class A, Esvee, JP, Lady Lash, G-Force, Morgan Macmanus, Nikkita & Butler Yeats. Production from Proph1, Crytearia & Xcise... Thanks for letting me spam you a bit! Peace & Props, Kady.
Friday October 23rd – Lee Rosser + TH3, live @ The Pub, Bendigo VIC
This will be one of THE VERY LAST SHOWS to be staged in the famed Band Room of The Pub (173 Hargreaves Street Bendigo), as it will be closing it's doors on Oct 31st.
Sadly, the well-sized band room, which has seen some fantastic nights for live music in Bendigo, will be closed due to lack of punter support over recent times.
Show Gav and the rest of the gang at The Pub that the live music scene in Bendigo is alive and kicking... come along and check out a brilliant night of blues & roots music besides, as the mighty Lee Rosser makes a long-awaited return to Bendigo!
Don't miss this opportunity to see some of the finest blues/roots/rock music Victoria has to offer!
