About FUNKMA$TER

FUNKMA$TER is a multi-instrumentalist. With drums, bass, keyboards, guitar, vocals, and a looping device called an Electrix Repeater, he is able to create layers of sound that will make you think you're listening to an entire band. Embracing new technology while shying away from drum machines and pre-recorded samples, he is truly a One-Man-Band in the most modern, yet organic sense of the term.

His live performances consist of original music, an endless supply of Reggae/Hip-Hop/Funk/R'n'B cover tunes, and folkloric afro-cuban rhythms and chants.

He spends most of his time playing percussion and singing with THE EUFORQUESTRA (www.euforquestra.com). He can also be seen performing with PUBLIC PROPERTY (www.publicprop.com), VITAMIN FUNK, THE AFRO-LATIN PROJECT (www.artes-latinas.com), playing dobro with THE EUFORQUESTRA STRING BAND, playing bass with NICKELBAGOFUNK, or singing with Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band LUNATIX ON POGOSTIX.

He recently moved to FORT COLLINS, CO and is currently working on several different recording projects and collaborations with musicians all across the country including: EUFORQUESTRA, PUBLIC PROPERTY (with special guests TOOTS HIBBERT from TOOTS and the MAYTALS, ELLIOT MARTIN from JOHN BROWN'S BODY, and TICKLAH), the MOTET, PASSAGE PROJECT, and KATHARINE CELIA RUESTOW from the DIPLOMATS OF SOLID SOUND. Greenhouse Productions	Aug 25 2009 6:04 PM Hello! Flagstaff favorites Telescope will be at the Orpheum Theater with special guests Ryanhood on Friday August 28th at 9pm. This show is all ages. Telescope released its first album, "For the Rest of Us" through its indie label Skyrocket Entertainment in 2007. The album met with great success and 7500 hard copies - 4000 downloads later it was time to record more music. The band released the EP, “Wind It Up” in February of 2009, this time to a packed Orpheum Theater in Flagstaff, AZ. The first single, "I'll Drive Tonight" went to #24 on the FMQB Charts in March, a huge accomplishment for an independent band. Telescope's live show and songwriting have catapulted them to the forefront of the Arizona scene. Telescope will also be at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale on Saturday August 29th at 9pm. He has won 5 Grammy Awards and mixes reggae with a little bit of hip-hop to create one of the best shows around. The show is all ages. And on Tuesday July 28 the Original Wailers featuring Al Anderson and Junior Marvin will be at the Green Room. The Original Wailers bring the spirit of Bob Marley to life with spot-on recreations of his music. Both Anderson and Marvin toured and recorded with Bob back in the seventies and helped to shape the Wailers roots-rock sound. A new world of traditional sounds, acoustic guitars, Moroccan drums, Turkish operatic singing, cello, double bass, backing vocals and silver flute blended together with the computer wizardry of Simon Posford's studio production. His international fan base has flowered from country-wide to world-wide in the last ten years. This year alone he has played over 16 sell out gigs around the world, each with a capacity of over 1500 people, in Australia, Israel, New York, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Moscow, Geneva, Montreal, and Tokyo to name just a few.
