Funkpig are
an improvisational rhythm-section, based at Hangar 18 studios, a secret location in Birming Ham, England, we create carbon-based funk using live bass and drums with samples and loops triggered in real-time.
Between us we have been honing our skills for long enough to get a pension.
The joy of midi allows us to make a big sound - playing lead and synths from the bass guitar and vocal samples, keys, brass, percussion and anything we like from the drumkit and drumkat. All live.
The music is intended to be modular and constantly evolving. Sometimes this gets recorded, sometimes tweaked, often neither. When it does its a kind of musical snapshot. This gets mixed and released as free downloads via our website www.funkpig.com.
We also work as session musicians and a freelance rhythm section.
But mainly we just like getting Foinky.
Thanks for adding me. Always nice to make new friends.
BTW, look out for my new track "Hypnotise". Also log onto my website at www.overplay.com/Stickman, here, you can find a list of where my album, "Cyborg" is available for sale in digital format.

AFRIKA JAM JAH Presents ANTIBALAS
Sunday 3rd June 2007
@ The Hare & Hounds, Kings Heath, Birmingham.
Doors: 8.00pm - midnight
Arguably the best Afrobeat band in the world.
Hailing from New Youk, this 13-piece extravaganza band are touring the
world to promote their new and best yet album "Security".
Following in the tradition of Fela Kuti, Antibalas have an awsome horn
section, one of the tightest, heaviest rhythm sections around and
deliver a powerful lyrical message.
This is a rare chance to see this special band at such an intimate
venue - so do not miss out.
