Part of our music created for 'The Seashell and the Clergyman' (1927, Germaine Dulac).
Funkspiel is Nick Prior, Bill Walsh and Sam Healy mucking around with musical gadgets to create catchy electropop tunes and indulge our new wave tendencies. As well as recording, we perform live with a wide array of instruments and stage visuals – we recently supported Ulrich Schnauss at a sell-out show in The Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh. We've written soundtracks for films, commercials and stage productions (including some new electronic scores for old Dada films from the 1920s, screened at The Edinburgh Filmhouse) and we've also created remixes for several bands including Zoey Van Goey. We've also had our own tunes played on BBC Radio One (Steve Lamacq) and BBC 6 Music (Vic McGlynn).
Currently, we're working on putting a long-overdue album together. Feel free to drop us a line or come and see us play live. Cheers, Bill, Sam and Nick.
A
4 track EP, titled Call Signs, it provides the perfect introduction to
the band prior to the release of their debut album, Grappling Hooks, in
early 2010.
Where fantasy becomes reality, Confusion Is Sex invites freaks, weirdos, princesses, kings, slaves... CiS is an environment rather than just a music night. It's like walking into a David Lynch set where the weird is normal, giving people the chance to be something they're not.
