   About funkspiel

Part of our music created for 'The Seashell and the Clergyman' (1927, Germaine Dulac).

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Funkspiel is Nick Prior, Bill Walsh and Sam Healy mucking around with musical gadgets to create catchy electropop tunes and indulge our new wave tendencies. As well as recording, we perform live with a wide array of instruments and stage visuals – we recently supported Ulrich Schnauss at a sell-out show in The Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh. We've written soundtracks for films, commercials and stage productions (including some new electronic scores for old Dada films from the 1920s, screened at The Edinburgh Filmhouse) and we've also created remixes for several bands including Zoey Van Goey. We've also had our own tunes played on BBC Radio One (Steve Lamacq) and BBC 6 Music (Vic McGlynn).

Currently, we're working on putting a long-overdue album together. Feel free to drop us a line or come and see us play live. Cheers, Bill, Sam and Nick.

Art Garfunkel and Keith Chegwin gave tenacious chase that night I seem to remember. They retrieved the pizza with a ruthless pincer movement... Watched 'Pulling' a few times, but it was turned off in our house when they bludgeoned that cat a few weeks ago... :/

Would be up for the gig on 11th but FWP got one in Cab Vol and I'm kinda planning to head there. But depending on set times...maybe could do both? Hear ya both soon!!
