Music
Music keeps my soul alive!! My tastes are random and tend to change to reflect my mood. Dub, Ska, Rock, Techno, Dance, Classical, Funk, Jungle, Breakbeat, Celtic, Reggae, Indie, D & B.... the list is endless.
Here are some doods that make my toes twinkle and my booty shake:
Dreadzone, London Elektricity, Asian Dub Foundation, James Brown, Massive Attack, Faithless, Marley, Roni Size, Lee Scratch Perry, Seahorses, The Levellers, Stone Roses, Afro Celtic Sound System, 3 Daft Monkeys, Zion Train, Beth Orton,Michael Franti & Spearhead, Turin Brakes, Belle and Sebastian, Chemical Bro's, Mogwai, The Kooks, Razorlight, Radiohead, Hendrix, The Prodigy, Lemon Jelly, Eekamouse, Fat Boy Slim, Sterio Mc's, No Doubt, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, One Giant Leap, Bedouin Soundclash, The Fugees, Jurassic 5, DJ Shadow, Fun Lovin Criminals, The Cuban Brothers,Ocean Colour Scene, Zero 7, Plump D.J’s, Dead can Dance, Cocteau Twins, Moby,
Movies
Went to work on a film that Richard Attenborough was directing in Belfast last year. I would like to say I was doing something really hip but I was the underdog keeping the rich and famous fed and watered! Thankfully not something I do on a regular basis but it was a fab experience, met some really cool folk and discovered that Belfast is a really buzzin comsos of funky happenings!!
Oh here are some films I can remember liking.......The Goonies, Pulp Fiction, Leon, Shaun of the dead, Napolean Dynamite, The Matrix, Amelie, Kill Bill (1 & 2), The Labyrinth, Fahrenheight 9/11, Finding Nemo, School of Rock, Trainspotting, Reservoir Dogs, Lord of The Rings, The Exorcist, The Godfather, Schindler's List, E.T, Star Wars (1977), Grease, Malcom X, Pretty in Pink, The Shining, Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Wizard of Oz, Lost Boys, Stand By Me, The Muppet Movie, Forest Gump, Chronicles of Narnia, The Pianist, Crouching Tiger~Hidden Dragon, March of the Penguins, Jaws (esp with the glasses), Touching the Void, Dead Poets Society
Television
Is the road to hell!! Im really not diggin all the bulls**t that is pumped out. I do own a 'tellybox' but I can go for months without watching it. I know I should keep up with current affairs but it makes me really sad :(
I loved tele when I was a kid. Do you remember.... Chorlton and the Wheelies, Bagpuss, Jamie and his Magic Torch, Bod, Morp, Mr.Ben, The Flumps, Battle of the planets, Mork and Mindy, The Adventure Game, Fame, The Red hand gang, Fraggle Rock, The Muppets, Dangermouse, Hong Kong Fuey, Monkey, he he.....those were the days!!! (quite suprised on how good my long term memory is, thats nice as my short term is sphangled!!)
Books
I tend to read books of a more spiritual/healing/holistic nature. Not big on novels. If I had absorbed all of the self help books I own and lived by them then I should be the most sorted enlightened person in the world!! But Im not, it has just made me more aware of the fact that I am a raging lunatic!!! Maybe I should just watch tele!!!
Heroes
Anyone who stands up for what they believe in even if it seems like everyone and everything is against them. People who selflessly dedicate their lives to making the world a better place for others.
Nelson Mandela, His Holiness the Dali Lama, Mother Teressa, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Earth, Lao-tzu, Salvidor Dali, Chorlton (the Happiness Dragon from Chorlton and The Wheelies), Red (Fraggle Rock)
