About ALPACAS LIVE::VIVALOLA::AUGUST 15::ST-NIKLAAS
Alpacas are a 9-piece funk collective hailing from Louvain, Belgium. Reminiscent of the works of S.O.U.L., James Brown, Curtis Mayfield and a lot of others, their musical stylings echo with the contagious rhythms, smooth horns and infectious percussion breaks that were the trademarks of the '60's and 70's funk movement.
Since their inception in 2007, Alpacas have established themselves as one of Louvain's "must-see" local acts. Apart from their solo gigs, they had the honour of sharing the stages with Poets of Rhythm (Sojo Club), Lefties Soul Connection, Quantic Soul Orchestra (Het Depot), Budos Band (Trix) and Reverend Cleatus & The Soul Saviours (Paris).

Funky Family, deze dinsdag 10-06, spelen wij in Bar Mondial, gelegen op de Suikerrui Antwerpen Centrum. Dit is het café van Peter Daems, diegene die jullie ook geboekt heeft voor Trix. We beginne rond 20.30-21u. Misschien tot dan!
Sinds begin deze maand organiseert Radio Scorpio, 's lands oudste vrije radio met Leuven als uitvalsbasis, een grootscheepse benefietactie tvv haar voortbestaan. Indien Radio Scorpio geen 15000 euro kan verzamelen is het einde nabij ... en ook dat van VolksRadioMoos ... Gedurende zes weken organiseert de alternatieve zender een heuse Scorpio-veiling op e-Bay. Elke week worden er nieuwe unieke objecten aangeboden, van typische Scorpio-objecten tot kunstwerken van o.a. Kim, Bart Schoofs en Jeroom. Sinds deze week wordt het meubilair van het Glazen Huis(Music for Life) aangeboden.
