About me:

Trumpeter Jon-Paul Frappier has worked with top names like Aretha Franklin, Destiny's Child and Alicia Keys. He is a native Detroiter, with a rich jazz and soul background. He is a versatile commercial player, session musician, arranger and experienced classical musician. In his 20 year career he's had several TV appearances include HBO's "Comic Relief," appeared in NBC's "Go For It" musical series, and West Side Story. Jon-Paul has performed over the years with with: Dwele, The Temptations, The Contours, Kid Rock, Roy Hargrove, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Micheal Stewart, Marcus Belgrave, James Carter, Jeff Coffin, Ellis Marsalis, Luther Allison, Dennis Coffey, Carl Craig, Jerry Gonzalez, The Machito Orchestra, Bernadette Peters, and the list goes on. Jon-Paul has performed in over 25 countries including a concert for Pope John Paul II. These days Jon-Paul is active touring and recording with "The Dynamites" on "Outta Sight" records and at performing and arranging cutting edge Gospel at Mt. Zion Baptist in Nashville. On the Classical front he leads The Gabrieli Brass Quintet and recently performed with The Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Some recent recordings include; Marc Broussard, Benita Washington, Old Union, Will Champlin, and numerous jingles and music library projects. His equipment includes; Customized gold plated Yamaha Bb trumpet and silver Flugelhorn, AMT wireless mic. Greg Black and Haefner mouthpieces. Custom Bach C trumpet and Getzen piccolo trumpet, Pilczuk lead pipes on all horns. Keilworth coronet and Gemeinhart flute.
