as a Performer with Detroit legends the Howling Diablos he started his love affair with music at the age of 7 when he received his first axe, a used burgandy sparkle Gretsch snare drum with a calfskin head on it purchased from George Hamilton's Drum Shop on Broadway in downtown Detroit. Tino quickly started emulating his drum hero, Gene Krupa, and adapted the greaser-style funk of the Ventures, Chuck Berry, and Bo Diddley/Rolling Stones/Jimi Hendrix........................

He has also co-written "Aces and Eights" and "Memphis Soul Song" with Uncle Kracker...........He has played drums on Nathaniel Mayer, Little Freddie King (2 Tino re-mixes), and Charles Caldwell's recent CDs for Fat Possum as well as 2 albums by Big Walter Horton, Detroit's Butler Twins, and Kenny Parker on JSP Records........................

The cut "Get You A Job" featuring Kenny Brown and Little Freddie King will be the featured cut on "Holy Blues" the new compilation from Big City Blues Magazine due this Summer.

I'd like to invite you to join us this weekend at the Detroit Windsor Film Festival. On Friday, "Ocean of Pearls" will be screening in Detroit at Wayne State's Deroy Auditorium ($8) at 7 p.m. and on Saturday it will be at the University of Windsor's Toldo Medical Education Centre.
