AKA UNISON World Peace and Humanitarian band that was band born out of the massive London 15th February Peace March 2003 as a part of the Kings College London stop the war contigent, as 2 million people protested against the War in Iraq.
The blisteringly funky Jazz4peace Collective are noted for their tireless peace & humanitarian work and delivery of their peace CD in 2003 “Don't Attack Iraq” to 10 Downing Street, one for Tony Blair and the other for his good friend George Bush.
The funky Jazz4Peace Collective Message: where there is conflict we play for reconciliation, where there is terror play for peace, where there is hate we play for love, where there is despair we play for hope, where there is hunger we play for make poverty history , we where there is killing we want peaceful coexistence ,unity respect opportunity and freedom.
Jazz4Peace also work closely with local communities helping to cross the divide by bringing together people closer together. Jazz4peace also works nationally and internationally so its music and message can do some good on the humanitarian front by helping aid agencies. Essentially we are a good band that play with high octane energy to a funky jazzy groove with a underline theme for peace & love in the world
The funky Jazz4peace collective fuses elements of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Rock, Reggae, Blues, Latin, gospel, rap and pop to create their dancy funky Peace Beats. We regard ourselves as funky jazzers doing our bit for world peace. Band Motto: “Big up the peace”.
The line up may vary from gig to gig but that message is always clear. Mission: Through the universal language of music we can promote peace, love, respect, harmony, understanding, compassion and reconciliation for our world and all its peoples.
The band has been interviewed on LBC and Galaxy radio and filmed by the New York Film Academy for a documentary called “Big up the Peace”. Mentioned in articles and listings in the following:

Since the band has formed in 2003, FJ4PC have been fund raising for the British Red Cross and DEC disaster committee and have recently received an award from the British Red Cross in recognition of its humanitarian fundraising to help innocent victims of war, terror and disaster. We have now also started to support (MAP) Medical Aid for Palestinians charity Oxfam and Make poverty history awareness campaign and headlined for Stop the War Coalition.
The Jazz4peace Collective look forward to 2007 to continue the work of this life time peace project to promote and raise the consciousness of world peace and humanitarian aid.
With a evolving line-up Jazz4peace are always on the look out for new, up and coming musicians, or named artists who would like to contribute to our project, do get intouch especially if you have a desire to promote peace. We are also on the look out for singers, drummers, trombonists, bassists and synth players contact Jazz4peace for a audition. Please note a high standard is required. Musicians must be able to improvise on afro jazz and funk grooves as well as the standard repertoire.
