The label was born in ..1997 in.. Rome, founded by
the producer / dj /musician Roby "jazzman" Colella a.k.a Roby J.C......
It started as a small project and suddenly
with the success of the production of the "Estrangera" track by
Jazzedelic (Remixed by the famous DJ SPILLER), became a very important label in
the Italian panorama. After reaching the PP sales in ..Germany..
and with the Funky juice direct distribution efforts, the label start to get
well-know in all ..Europe... ....
Funky juice records in
the last few years has been concentrate to
develop and distribute his products and artists in ..Japan..,
Far East and ....U.S.A.....
After 14 years presences at the MIDEM in Cannes "Funky juice records"
had the chance to meet and work with all of the best and respected nternational
indipendent labels of the scene, like to name a few:, COLUMBIA JAPAN, Wagram,
King international Japan, Unique, Family Affair, Zomba, Compost..............
Sometimes we also have been approached by
major company (Sony Japan, Warner Germany, Sonybmg Germany, BMG Italy) around
the world for licensing our well know tracks.Three years ago one of the tracks
of our main group Barrio Jazz Gang called: “Chok-a-Blok Avenue" featured
in a variety of international high quality compilations and was listed in all
the specialized playlists like the Compost records one, as well as the Stereo
deluxe. In the "Saint germain Cafe des pres vol. 1-cd" (....wagram....)
we had the chance to develop our artist in all the world. ....
The first 4 tracks of their album
(Spectrum) featured in almost 25 international label compilations that of
course are our fun as well as very good friends. Our passion
for the sixties and seventies hot-Jazz and for the modern club-music create our
own sounds and the electronic elements are always fused together with analog an
acoustic live recordings-set. You can feel it in almost all our productions, this is our main target, as well reaching the
listeners with something special and very up-front. Last acquisitions are the
very talented LED project and the great vocalist Pauline London who has already

days. We been inspired every day by African Rhythms as
well, Cuban Jazz, Rhumba, Samba and bossa nova, but in relation with new spice
and flavor added......a tingling, pulsating call to dance. Our Nu-beats are
wild, free and expressive with savage attitude that suggests primitive rituals
and passion under a sturry and tropical sky. ....
