Meet Funky Mama!
Tell me how many electric-guitar-playing, soulful soccer
moms you know.
Now, let me introduce you to Funky Mama.
Krista “Funky Mama” Eyler left her hectic life as an
on-air television reporter to embrace motherhood and
a life as a singer/songwriter for children and their families.
She created her own Kansas City-based company--
Funky Mama Music--to write and perform original, interactive rock n’ roll for kids.
Funky Mama blends blues, rock n’roll, bluegrass,
gospel, funk and fun on her popular CDs ~ Funky
Mama Sings: Giggle Jiggle! (2005,) Grandma's
House (2006 ) and Moo Juice (2008).
Funky Mama’s voice is unlike any heard in children’s music today. Her versatile, power-packed voice has wow-ed thousands of kids from Kansas City to the White House Easter Egg Roll. Full of richness and rock,
Funky Mama’s music packs a punch and kids love it.
“Singing of Funky Mama enchants tots and parents alike.”
The Kansas City Star
“Funky Mama’s throaty vocals aren’t the type that can be sung by just anyone. Her rich voice has a rock ‘n blues strength to it that recalls the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow…(She is) armed with a fire-engine red electric guitar and one extraordinary pair of vocal cords.” 435 South Magazine
“Funky Mama rocks the toddler set with an original groove.” Shawnee Magazine
Happy belated birthday! I'm so sorry I was on vacation and was refusing to get on a computer, but I had a Margarita for you. Can I treat you to one, or something else, maybe next week?

Hey! I got it as a late Christmas present and know 5 chords. I know the D chords that you taught me and c,g,a, and e! I'm just a beginner though. I gotta get the strumming down and the switching chords smoothly. It's hard!
Hey Funky Mama, I love what you are doing!! Your songs are fab and fun! I too teach preschool music and perform kids concerts. What a joyful job!! Best wishes to you, Carrie

I wish I could add "Grandma's House" to my profile :(
So we're decorating the tree this weekend and Joel and I want to listen to Christmas music. Abby only wants to listen to Funky Mama. Sigh. If only there were a Funky Mama holiday CD! :)
