Funky Monks is America's premiere Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band, playing all the RHCP radio favorites plus the great punk & funk classics that helped put the multi-Grammy winning Peppers on the map. Since formed in 2003 by bassist Jeff Genualdi (Jefflea), we've had the privilege of playing at venues as far as Dominican Republic, Mexico, California, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois & Wisconsin including many major universities within the Midwestern/Eastern states.
We are fans playing for fans, and every show is a celebration. Unlike other tributes who may claim to be "authentic", we capture both the look AND sound which is focused around accuracy. With a growing catalogue of 70+ songs, we want to give the fans the same live experience they would expect from a real Peppers concert - stage energy, crowd interaction, funky live jams, random surprise covers and of course all their biggest hits. Upon entering the club/venue, you'll need to listen twice not to mistake us for the REAL RHCP! With uncanny Anthony vocals, funky Flea-style bass, Chad's heavy-hitting drums to a guitarist who can bring Slovak, Navarro and Frusciante together all in one show....you won't find a more accurate tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

Hey Guys!! I hope all is well and that you're having a great summer.. Looks like you've been rocking out and keeping real busy, love it! The new page looks great!! Excuse Me played last in March at NYC's Blender Theater at Gramercy which was amazing.. Then I broke my jaw 2 days later. What a nightmare it has been, especially for a singer! Recovering well (takes at least 8 months) and we've all been doing our thing and working on various other projects. I just launched my own website that showcases my photography, art direction/design and production work (www.nicoledewaal.com). I'm missing music though, been writing here and there for fun and hope to play some big Excuse Me shows late '09 or early '10. I really, really hope our bands will play together again.. I'm thinking House of Blues in Vegas and California or a show on an island perhaps!? haha.. Ok, keep in touch.
