Awesome! Richmond Arms, Bournemouth on Tue 31st Oct 06
These guys are masters of their craft... very impressive!
I've seen a lot of tribute bands claiming to sound like the 'real thing' but the 'Funky Munks' delivered.
They didn't just sound great either... the audience interaction was top class... there were cds flying overhead for anyone making a special effort with their dancing skills!
All in all a great night and a fantastic kick-off to bringing live music back to the Richmond!
Thank you guys!

Ulitimate! Barrel House, Totnes on Sat 19th Aug 06
Turned up a bit late with some friends and the vibes were quite chilled out. (Well, we were in Totnes after all!) To start off the evening felt a little too mellow with everyone sitting down in near complete silence.
However, all credit to the band because that soon changed! Before long their mesmerising sound got everyone going and soon plenty of people were on their feet dancing to a mix of old and newer Chilli's tracks.
I have to say that they sounded spot on! If you closed your eyes they could easily have been taken for the real thing. The guys were cool too, handing out cd's to 'the best dancers' and they even played requests. To cap it off we had some great solo efforts on the drums and from the bass guitarist, which really got the crowd roaring for more.
These guys were so good they had us all begging for more right up until the 11pm cut off.
Highly recommended to folks of all ages!
Cheers!

Excellent gig The Phoenix, Exmouth on Sat 15th Jul 06
The Phoenix's pageWhat better way to celebrate a birthday? The guys came back to Exmouth and played a storming gig as usual. We sang and danced along all night. An excellent mix of old and new material, including all our favourites from the RHCP catalogue. They had the crowd jumping, and we all went home most entertained to say the least. These guys are so talented, they make it all look so effortless.... and they are thoroughly nice with it to boot!

Setting The Phoenix Ablaze The Phoenix, Exmouth on Sat 15th Jul 06
The Phoenix's pageFunky Munks completey rocked my socks off! They are absolutely brilliant, and you shouldn't miss them if you get the chance to watch them perform live! Drop whatever you are doing and catch the gig if they are performing near you! You will not be disappointed.
All the classic riffs of the Chili's, all the manic Flea beats from the bassist, and the fantastic drumming from their drummer! It's all there, and more!
So, go out and have a good time with your mates. You might even be lucky enough to watch the lead singer and guitarist, Terrence, in a kilt!
Long live rock 'n' roll!

Funky Munks are a power trio red hot chili peppers tribute band, a force to be reckoned with, playing classic material new and old with an energetic stage show guaranteed to leave the crowd screaming for encores!
They are the UK's most authentic sounding Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute and they love to do what Anthony, Flea, John and Chad do best! And that is whipping up a storm of furious funk, punk and rock that will turn any audience into a blissed out party!
Expect an energetic show and awesome musicianship as well as all the favourites from "Californication" and "By the Way" and all the dirtiest and funkiest jams from the legendary "Blood sugar Sex Majik" album. Also there will be the latest classics from "Stadium Arcadium" and the odd few from the early days.
Something for everyone here, a show you won't forget in a hurry so make sure you don't miss them!
If you do then hire them for a birthday party your friends will be talking about for a long time!

We would like to thank all the bands who supported Coombeshead Studios during 2007. It was our busiest year ever at just short of 100 bands, and allowed us to spend several thousand pounds on some major upgrades, launching us from a low budget studio to a fully professional setup. We continue to offer our low budget prices but offer a greater flexibility of control and greatly improved quality!
Thanks for Sporting the J-Monks in your top friends. New CD coming in a few weeks. New instrumental track is up....it leads into part of the first release from the album titled, "Won't You". Keep it FuNkY. J-Monks
