Funniest Filmmaker in Austin's Blurbs

About me:

It's back! Austin Film Festival and the Cap City Comedy Club are proud to announce The Fourth Annual Funniest Filmmaker in Austin contest! Enter by August 10th, 2009 and on Monday August 17th, see who wins!

Download the 2009 entry form soon! More details to come.

Hit us with your best shot. It's free to enter and the winner gets two all access producers badges valued at $1300 to the 16th Annual Austin Film Festival where his or her film will play as an official selection of the fest!

Not a professional? Don't despair! Funny beats technical ability in this contest. Quick and dirty shorts are welcome!

Rules: Films must be under 5 minutes long and delivered by August 14th. All films must be on DVD. Free to enter. You must be a current Austin resident to enter.

Finalists will be notified by phone and/or email by Friday August 14th. Limit 3 entries per person.

Carl Webb	Aug 18 2009 5:52 AM The Rag Blog and South Austin Pictures present a screening of "God Thinks You're a Loser," a perverse comedy from Austin director Gary Chason, at The Independent in the 501 Studio Complex, 8 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2009, 501 E. 5th at I-35 in Austin, Texas (entrance on Brushy Street, one block east of I-35). A donation of $10 is suggested, with proceeds benefiting The Rag Blog, a progressive internet news magazine based in Austin. There will be a cash bar. According to Chason, "God Thinks You're a Loser" is "a zany comedy about strippers and oil men" with "plenty of kinky sex, drugs, and the reckless pursuit of sensual pleasure." But in the end, those who hurt others must answer for their actions. Much of the film takes place in Hell.
