Honolulu resident Shawn Felip’e; Thai-American heritage and his personal misadventures forms the basis of many of the elements of his stand-up acts which have been televised on AZN TV’s “Asia Street Comedy”, Sprint’s Comedy Time Network, World Asia Comedy “DVD” and “Television” ImaginAsian TV’s “Comedy Zen” Volume 1 available on NETFLIX, PBS’s “Crossing the Line” and TFC’s MYXED “SlantEd Comedy”
He credits his Thai mother as ‘one of the reasons why I do comedy’, and leaves audiences wondering in anticipation when and where the next ethnic punchline is going to be delivered. As well Shawn believes that comedy comes from life’s mishaps and tragedies, and feels that “it is a way of positive thinking”.
Shawn also lists George Lopez and Chris Rock, amongst others, as his comic influences, and his casual and laconic style of comedy across the US, Canada, Japan and Singapore has been televised, recorded on the internet and on DVD, and touches on everything to do with relationships, marriage, traveling, love and life in general.
