Influencesall creatures great and small, staying up late, getting up early, reading too much, not saying enough, the TV downstairs, weekends, weekdays and geography... the shifting views of scientists and politicians, cab drivers, public transport, being young, getting old, junk food guilt, roving in packs, sitting alone, taking a shower every now and then, not shaving, good friends, charcoal, chemical plants, stand up comedy, sit down religion, arcitechture in every city but our own, children, ghosts and rainbows.
Sounds LikeThe deep woods, between exit city,(CITY),worm city, cardboard city, closer to gay paris... you know where the wolves get you and you can only fit a fiddle, not a cello. standing up. walking. being hungry. dirty water. floorboards.

FURCURVE MERCHANDISE

Both the album and EP are now available through iTunes... Though if you would like it in a more tangible sense, you can buy them here via PayPal.

We're currently very low on shirts, but new ones are in the making with rad new designs. So for now the few we have left are available at shows, and soon we'll have a bunch of new ones which you will be able to buy here also.

   About furcurve
Well, now that it's all over with, I guess that it's time to look back and put down what I can remember, I'm only human (for now) after all and sooner or later, the old hippo in the campus will give one last little choke and wave and I'll be cursing aluminium scape goats all the way to town and back…

Things to know and hold onto… we made amazing friends with bands, promoters and general weirdos who decided that we may well be either interesting musicians or terribly attractive people (the truth lays somewhere to the left of both and hopefully no one ever finds out or we're done for!).

Love goes to such greats as Call The Medic Call The Nurse!! (in fact, after Curve HQ resident golden underpants wearer, Lehi abandoned us on the grounds that the house was like a sinking ship, Simo moved right on in, bringing back some of the beer drinking that Lehi had replaced with red wine… this was good but also it had been nice to see Deanie broaden his palette), Zebras Can't Be Tigers (oh lord, check them out! Between the medics, us and them, we managed to ruin a venue and lose about 20 grands worth of gear, so you know that they are good for it, whatever it may be… you'll find out someday, I promise!) on the same geographical note, the guys who went on to be The Sharks, They Bite, Liam, Luke and Adrian - you guys showed us more love straight away than anyone at home and made me feel good about ju ju beads: THANK YOU. Goosey and all the hipsters at the manor, everyone involved with LIMP, yall gave us the best dancing, best accommodation and most booze of anyone I've ever met… not to mention the fact that I die a little inside now whenever I see a goose on the street. Big ups to Yeah Bears, who we saw grow into something amazing at the NYE party at Cosmos. Matt, Mitzi, you kids are all right, ay? Yeah, you know it! Get Poison, Hammer, Nicole – you guys put up with our shite and forced a screaming baby from between our collective legs and now, just as we are about to pull the mother snake treatment on it and go about our promiscuous ways, you're sending the kid out to college? Amazing. Without Hammer we never would have got the album out of the jam room and without BZ, we never would have got the physical copy to all those who would come to purchase it (there must have been 10-12 sales this year!!!!) MD75, who took us under his wing in both QLD and SE Asia, he taught us to 'man up' in the face of language barriers, food poisoning and crushing heat… on the other hand, I think we taught him something about manlove! Thanks to our long time buddies, Ohana (who are just getting better and better) and Hospital the Musical (who had better come back and save metal once and for all… do it soon, I can't deal with another 'breakdown'). Thanks to all of our interstate buddies, Art Vandelay, Soft White Machine, Mike Deslandes(!!!! Hope he has a new band soon… SA was sooo nice), Lauren and Oscar, Luca Brasi.

We had an amazing time in SE Asia, hell, I never thought that I'd be out of the country let alone in five inside of two weeks, thanks to Karla, Chicosci, Faspitch, Yos (Yosfest ruled… mobbed and treated like rock stars… what times we live in!), Brand New Sunset, Housetrap, Meng and the Love Me Butch guys… what a tour, even though we nearly died of heat, food poisoning and falling speaker stacks!

We also saw the rise of many new groups, the previously mentioned Yeah Bears, now Army Ant, Dead Farmers, ZCBT, Shrodinger's Cat and Run!Hide! who have also have new EP out now!

We've had the chance to play not only supports with bands we look up to (The Nation Blue, Blueline Medic, Front End Loader, Nunchukka Superfly and Envy from Japan) and help out our buddies just starting out by hooking them up at our headline shows, but we've also had our first taste of festival mayhem at Yosfest in Thailand and Come Together Festival in Sydney.

Melbourne treated us to many adventures and in many ways, I'm now more at home there than I am in Sydney… the people dance so good and party so well… thanks for involving us!

Special thanks to Kimba for being our driver, merch whore and now nasty back up singer/dancer… it's only going to get worse from here on in, baby! So bring an axe and a shovel for clean up duty…

Thanks to our loved ones, the housemates and lady friends who put up with varying degrees of crap from us –house parties that take three months to clean up, touring, avoiding real world responsibilities like family and paying the bills on time… thank you!

We've had some misfortunes with gear (and a stolen van) and as ever are aware that this is about throwing money into a gaping art maw… and the most gratifying thing in the world is when you all come along and poke your money into the gaps between it's rotten teeth… album listening parties, backyard cinema (flooded out flood fundraiser!), buying our merch and heck, some of you even come to our shows!

We've come a long way this year and are part way through writing the new album (the concept and story is done, I'm just waiting on the slobs to get their riffs together… I hope Lach and Dean don't read this…) and the new year is looking promising – there'll be more Sydney to Melbourne Night Drives(hopefully we can keep our 'demolished wombat count' at zero, if you are curious, ask Kimba), some touring action in New Zealand and hopefully a return to SE Asia (which we've been promising for quite some time). We've got a good string of shows looking to be confirmed soon, so keep checking in…

Most of all, let us know what you want us to do and where you want us to do it, after all is said and done, it's no fun for us or anyone else if you're not getting what you need.

Much love

Luke and the Curve

By treading the razor wire between unpredictability and consistency, the band has ensured there's plenty here for many a listen to come. – Drum Media

These demonically artistic punkers churn out lyrics rivalling any beat poetry – Rave Magazine

Who said that real post-punk music is dead? – Inpress Magazine

"Ah, yes. That's going to be fucking awesome but I won't understand a word of it. One, please." – Beat Magazine

It's quite intimidating to review an album that has stickers on the cover saying I should expect Furcurve to sound like Blood Brothers or Will Haven or The Cure. It raises the expectations and gives you the feeling that you're being set up for a let down. To be honest, I don't think any of these descriptions do We Grew Legs To Flee The Water any justice. – The Dwarf.com

Crawl up from the ocean floor, forget about gills, forget about the fear of sharks and the wonder of sunken treasure, there are strange things up on the dry land, think about using your legs and moving on, no need to cling to the safety of the shallows, this is a deep, deep landscape…

Now, think about the woods, stranger – do you wonder what it’s like to leave? Set the boughs on fire and stride through the neighbouring hamlet, ring out a bell and scream that nothing is well… stop treading on eggshells and come out of the backwoods, do you know why the skyline trembles in the spotlight?

There are reasons that mass media promotes atavistic notions of good behaviour; old world traditions that hold sway over the modern populace like bad elevator music, created to stem thoughts at their conception. Language is as bad a barrier as any yet much like the corpse of capitalistic excess, it can only be brought low with its own tools , pull out the silver tongues and trade them in for a new idea, give up the specter of big city hustling… do you realize how big this house is? There are cameras everywhere.
