SO! FURIOUS GEORGEbegan with a deceased cat, an attempted Prog-Rock band on permanent hiatus and a unique voice.
The collaborative efforts of Box Hill Institute Music graduates Steve Mitchelmore, Leona Prue, Zander Thompson and close friend Nick Copland, combined with their mixed musical backgrounds, result in a sound that not only captures the vibe of the moment but also reflects their distinct musical influences varying from Tool, Bjork, Lamb to Dave Matthews.
In late 2006 with the demise of Nick, Steve and Zander’s prog-rock band ‘Encino’ and the end of their university courses, each went their separate ways for the summer traveling and writing their own music. They returned in March refreshed and full of new ideas to begin another band. After many a thought as to who (or what!) the new singer should be, they settled with Leona – fellow Box Hill music student and singer/lyricist of Melbourne indie band ‘All India Radio’.
They have begun their assault on the Melbourne live music scene and have plans to record an EP in April.
