In the course of their six-year run, the Furry Things evolved from practitioners of My Bloody Valentine-style guitar psych-outs into synth-laden aficionados of trance and dub. The band formed in 1993 shortly after guitarist/producer Ken Gibson met bassist Cathy Shive at a rave. The two began recording songs on a four-track recorder and were soon joined by drummer Charlie Woodburn and keyboardist Chris Michaels. Gibson and Shive’s output attracted local label Trance Syndicate, which released the band’s 1996 debut, The Big Saturday Illusion. The album’s dual homage to Kevin Shields and Brian Wilson was best realized on tracks like “Still California.” Eschewing pop song structures for ambient grooves, 1997 follow-up EP hedfones was a wide-open experimental collage that recalled the pioneering electronic spirit of Kraftwerk and Brian Eno. The quartet headlined the 1997 Trance showcase at South by Southwest and moved to Los Angeles that summer. In 1998, Moments Away distilled the essence of hedfones into a series of infectious dance-pop songs, including Shive’s sultry “I Can Lie.” Although Away garnered critical acclaim, the band broke up shortly after the album’s release. – Greg Beets
Hey FURRY THINGS! : ) “Watch your thoughts, for they become words; watch your words, for they become actions; watch your actions, for they become habits; watch your habits, for they become character; watch your character, for it becomes your destiny." ~ Mahatma Ghandi”
Furry Things and hearing loss are two things that go hand in hand. I remember being sick, physically SICK after seeing you guys in Denton around 1996. I have never heard anything so loud in my life. ah but what fun it was.

Did you get it in writing? Better hope so. Included in this Zip file is 177 fill in the blank contracts for use in the music television and film industry. The world is full of starving artists and you don't have to be one of them. All are microsoft word documents or text documents openable by MS Word. For the price of a pizza this small investment could protect, save and possibly make you thousands down the road. No band or indie filmmaker should be without these resources. When printed, these contracts total almost 650 pages.
