| General | old horror comics, Neil Gaiman, snowflakes, ravens, Vikings, China, (Asia, not plates), books, movie theatres, Nabokov, Chow Yun Fat, eBay, photography, ALL music, live & recorded, beads, yard sales, and all things to do with the post office. mermaids, fonts, old magazines, libraries, graphics, history, and a good story... my new mission, simplify. i tour for a living, so i am trying to travel light. Just finished Duran Duran. next tour: the JONAS BROTHERS (working for the mouse??!) spent last year the US/European TOOL tour. Motley Crue tour & three Tori Amos tours. Perfect Circle, they were wonderful. was out with Britney, Deftones & more.. there is Nothing quite like being on a tour bus. l was out w/ Rob ZOmbiE---what's next, hmmm?...doing local shows, then go into the teenybopper madness of Jonas brothers... | | Music | from Nick Cave to Neko Case to Coil and Bauhaus, music is too important to me to dash off a little list....but here are some: the magic of Diamanda Galas. Hellacopters. Leather Nun. the Gories/Mick Collins/Blacktop. Iggy. I like anything spooky, and old blues is always right listening. if i were to commit to a religion, it would be music. Otis Redding, the arch bishop. Elton John still works wonders, when i hear his songs from a billion years ago. Aerosmith:get your wings, a perfect album. Deftones. Johnny Cash. Steve Earle, oh my. B Boys. Tori, of course. i love "imagine ave" internet radio station, all soundtrack & film snippets...grant willard conspiracy. that silly sweet Rufus Wainwright. Run DMC. NIN, Mr. Rob Zombie, pink floyd's "wish you were here". as always, Ministry is the best getting-ready music Ever. Band of Horses.
Neil tipped me to Thea gilmore and also the 6ths, which is pure love.
| | Movies | hmmm. this is main reason i am still living in LA after 8 years of too-much-traffic & too-many-people because there is a good movie theatre on nearly every corner. just came home from the Los Feliz 3, Diving bell & butterfly--a heartbreak of a story, 300, my heart is still on fire.... goodfellas/blow/any & all Kurosawa/fight club/love the old swedish "seventh seal" /snatch/but my favorite movie of all time, probably has to be ALIEN. if i have to pick, which i do not. IRONMAN, *sigh. RD jr. stole the film and i love that he is back. | | Television | DEXTER....Alfred Hitchcock presents.... | | Books | from henry miller to newspapers, i will read it if it is printed.....j.g. ballard, palahniuk, amy tan, nabokov, david sedaris, martin millar...of course, dreamking Neil Gaiman... not enough room on the page to attempt a list. books are my true addiction. just love the way they look & feel and how they take me away from this existence. better than any drug. i collect the Japanese puppet story books from the 1960's that are truly amazing, with the 3D cover plates. authors are this world's real superheroes. like i said, i am a bookworm, baby. | | Heroes | the real heroes of this world are artists & authors, anyone contributing their vision.
my parents J & A are my personal heroes. They marched on Washington for causes since before i was born. They stand for personal integrity in a way i can only try to in this new world order. I just saw them on c-span, sitting in on the town-hall meeting sponspored by the ACLU, debating the govt. spying on regular people...go Mom & Dad! cutest parents ever.

i'm a travelling bookworm, a spelling specialist, a late night writer of letters, an old-school photographer, a comic-book & thrift-shop treasure hunter, a film-making betty, i hammer on sparkly jewels and i'm a cutter of glass for my home-made magnets...
