Futago Technologies was founded in 2000 by Rennie "Dubnut" Foster and Kan "815" Shinomura. That year Kan and Rennie had both become fathers of "Futago", the Japanese word for twins ...on the same day! and both sets of twins are of Japanese and Canadian mixed origin. Since Rennie and Kan were both working to bring the Japanese and North American techno scenes closer together, the word "Futago" represented perfectly the theme of duality and partnership that has become the life force of the Futago Technologies vision. Currently, Rennie Foster resides in Tokyo, Japan and Kan Shinomura in Western Canada but all Futago members such as Hisaharu "Cue" Sato and Akiko Kusuda keep an active travel schedule passionately spreading the Futago sound through thier highly technical and eclectic dj sets. --------Kan and Rennie have since been steadily releasing top quality techno and house music, both as solo artists and as a unit on top international labels. During 2003 in partnership with Rhythmic inc. NYC Futago Traxx the label was born and has become a definative example of Japanese techno music and the current move toward Tokyo as a bastion of futurism and sub-cultural development. -----------The Futago sound is the sound of walls being broken down, walls between countries and boundries between musical gernes. Production, promotion and even the way that the underground dance music industry operates is being challenged and experimented with as the futago mission is growing in strength and momentum. With a strong interest in the roots of cultural movement, musical and otherwise , the Futago approach to melody reflects elements of Detroit`s rich techno tradition and the cyclic tribal drum patterns pulsate with an African mystical energy both unique and historic. However, the real magic to the Futago energy is in the raw and honest approach to music creation ...and to life.------------------------------------------Futago Traxx Vinyl Discography-------------------------
