Future Kings Of Spain started out in February 2000 as Joey Wilson, Anton Hegarty and Bryan McMahon. They rehearsed for 5 months until they had a set of songs long enough to play in front of people. Finally and with no name, in July 2000 they played to some friends in a nightclub in Dublin.
In December 2000, introduced as Future Kings Of Spain, they played their first real show. They were joined by Karl Hussey in late 2003 and remained a 4-piece until they brought things to a close in June 2009.
The band recorded 2 LPs and 1 EP. The first LP and the EP for Red Flag Records; the second and last LP for their own label, What’s The Kim? Recordings.
From Dublin, Ireland FKOS toured, recorded and made friends in North America, Europe, the UK, Japan, Australia and Ireland.
We're launching our new EP "Dazzling Mess" @ the academy 2 this Friday 27th November Doors 7pm €8 in, Support from Vodkopter and Urban Folk Project :-) Hope to see you there!!

The wait is over people. Our debut album “After the Wedding” finally hits shelves nationwide tomorrow morning, Friday the 18th of September.
You’ll be able to purchase the album in all the usual outlets, HMV, Tower Records, Road Records, Zhivago, CD World, Record Sleeve, Golden Discs, Xtra Vision and in select privately owned local shops too.
If your local store doesn’t have the album ask them, “why the hell not?” and I’m sure they’ll gladly order it in for you.
The version in shops this week is a limited edition 6 page cardboard digi-pak with 24 page full colour booklet. This limited edition version also includes the exclusive hidden track “You’ve changed man” that some of you may have seen us perform live on this tour, AKA. the one with the banjo, trombone and trumpets. :’)
Oh one last thing, if you do intend buying the album, we’d really appreciate it if you bought it in the next few days. Not that we’re bothered with charting positions, but generally top 30 albums get heard by more people… and we’re eager to share our baby with the world.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for your support over the years, we hope you enjoy the album.
The live tour rolls into Monaghan tomorrow and Mullingar on Saturday if you’re about!
Hi lads, how is progress on the follow up to Nervousystem? It's gonna be a hard one to top. I'm still requesting "Guess Again" all the time to several National DJ's. What a tune, some of the coolest guitar work since Seattle.
