FUZZ MANTA
Heavy.Hippie.Hard.Rock.Denmark
FUZZ MANTA plays Psychedelia infused Hard Rock, Blues and Rock! The quintet’s sound is characterized by two lead-guitars, the melodic-dynamic interplay of the rhythm section as well as the voice of singer Lene Kjær Hvillum who essentially coins the band’s sound with her charismatic and expressive-guttural delivery.
FUZZ MANTA’S influences range from Led Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad via Black Sabbath or Whitesnake to comtemporary artists like Clutch, Graveyard, We and the neo-hippies of Black Mountain. Since 2006 the band has established itself through countless concerts, two self-released EPs as well as various contributions to samplers.
FUZZ MANTA has collected experience through several German tours as well as festivals in Austria and Denmark. The band’s development has been highlightened by a well-deserved support slot for heavy psych rockers Nebula in the fall of 2008 as well as a performance at Austria’s Sauzipf Rocks Festival in the summer of the same year where the band was hailed by festival promoters and visitors alike as the best band and most surprising discovery of the year. Spring 2009 sees the release of FUZZ MANTA’s debut full lenght- album “Smokerings” on the German label Bad Deal Records (distributed by World in Sound) followed by extensive touring in Germany between June and October 2009.
“WHAM BAM THANK YOU MAM!! Full-on hardass southern stoner rawk from hell! The boys were tight as a scotsman’s wallet, and the fat riffs had bigger cojones than Attila The Hun. And Lene, Christ all fuckin’ mighty, she really let it all hang out, rockin’ harder than any Dane! Musically Fuzz Manta belongs somewhere between southern boogie titans like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet and newer artists like Clutch.”

"Fuzz Manta is a new band from Copenhagen formed by members of The Davolinas and Triggerbells. The band plays rather 70’s styled hard rock with influences from blues, stoner, grunge and southern rock. "Night Fright” is a rather slow, a bit Soundgarden-like number with some heavy riffs. There’s nice guitar soloing in the middle. The band’s female singer Foxy somehow succeeds to bring Led Zeppelin to mind! . They do have plenty of nice riffs for sure, so check them out if you get your buzz from 70’s styled hard rock."
