I love to rock climb, work on cars, and just about anything that takes creativity, imagination, and is a little out of the box. Right now I'm helping coach varsity football, I like that. I like to read. I also like to sing early in the morning, but no one else likes it when I do that.
Music
I enjoy everything from Bob Dylan to Handels Messiah.
Movies
I love all the Indiana Jones movies, I always have. I think being Indiana Jones was a life goal at one point. Maybe still is. I also like movies like the Jason Bourne movies. Wow, that could be another life goal. Well, whatever, I like movies with action and clever plots. And just maybe, when I reach all my life goals, there will be a Paul movie with action and a clever plot. Hmmmmm!
Books
The Bible is the only book that completely pertains to my life. Its truths satisfy and guide me to life and godliness. Life as in real, eternal and everlasting life. Life that men can only find by way of Jesus Christ.
Other than the Bible I enjoy the books...
The Life of God in the Soul of Man...Written by Henry Scougal, first printed in 1739.
Desiring God... by John Piper.
From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya... by Ruth Tucker, A great book that gives an honest analyses of the history of the modern missions movement.
The Discipline of Grace...by Jerry Bridges.
And then right now I am reading Studies in the Sermon on the Mount by Marten Loyd-Jones.
Heroes
Those that have served the Lord with there lives are my heroes. People like my Dad, whose a man of God that just wants to be used by the Lord in other peoples lives. So I see heroes all the time, and not on TV either. My heroes are just faithful people who serve the Lord and serve others. You could be one of my heroes!
About me: I am Paul Somers. I grew up in Walled Lake Michigan where I went to Central High School. But honestly...I have not been back there since the day I graduated. I've spent a lot of summers working at Camp Barakel and my school years have been spent at various colleges such as Northland Baptist Bible College, Cornerstone University, and New Tribes Bible Institute.
I have a beautiful wife, Stephanie. Stephanie and I are youth workers with Lopez Island Community Church on Lopez island in the San Juans off the coast of Washington.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to get in touch with anyone I went to school with or grew up with. Not only that but I would love to meet anyone who loves and wants to serve our Lord and savior Jesus Christ or just wants to know more about him.

Hey Paul. Thanks for checking in--it's good to hear from you again. Congrats on the baby. It's quite the ride.
My first novel is available in several formats, print or online (http://www.monkeyouttanowhere.com/dandelions/). My second novel is only available in online blog format (http://www.monkeyouttanowhere.com/blacktop/), which means I never did any editing--so it's in pretty rough shape.
Honestly, they're both in rough shape. I cleaned up Downtown Dandelions enough so I could self-publish it and have a copy on my shelf, but that doesn't mean it's finished.
