FYODOR D is a free jazz and improvisation project that has been exploring the connections between reeds and percussions since 2005.
As a DUO, Fyodor D delves into creative and research music, as well as into an open confrontation with the history of free music.
The recent performance "Ornetto Perfetto" is based on a personal reelaboration of Ornette Coleman's music.
The TRIO version with guitar is a surprising bassless ensamble, with lively and dynamic music as a result.
Fyodor D's relationship to free jazz and improvised music is strong and informal.
The tie to the music of Ornette Coleman, William Parker, Sam Rivers and the Art Ensemble of Chicago leads to respectful and joyful "deplacement" of jazz tradition.
The Rhythmic interplay, the dynamics and the sound research play an important role in our music, both on free improvisations and on
the reelaboration of the music of great creative musicians.
Paolo Benzoni
I am a drummer and drummer-teacher, who have developed an in-depth study of the instrument with Massimo Caracca and Carlo Virzi, as well as by carrying out “laboratories” and ensemble-music courses provided by different musicians amongst whom Stefano Solani and Simone Massaron.
During the course of the 90’, I have been a member of different rock bands, and since the year 2000 I am involved in different research projects in the areas of free-jazz, reading-groups, trios, quartets, and quintets, all tending to a new interpretation of the standards.
I have projected and realized the sound for silent-films: with Press Trio, “Nosferatu” by F.W.Murnau, the short-movies "The high sign" by Buster Keaton and "In the park" by Charles Chaplin; with Freeze Frames Quartet, “Celovek s kinoapparatum” by Dziga Vertov and "Goodnight, Nurse" by Roscoe Arbuckle.

Marco Franceschetti
I have studied sax with Antonio Marangolo e Daniele Cavallanti, and carried out the Siena jazz-seminars.
I have been a member of different jazz and R&B bands in Bologna and Milano.
At the moment I am mainly focused towards “more free” musical expressions.

Sergio Prada graduated at the G.Verdi Conservatory of music in Milan in 2003 and approached improvised music attending the A.Braida e G.Locatelli workshops in Lodi.
Since then he dedicates to improvised music, realizing several collaborations with various musicians and performers.
