Minority Report and A.I. are amazing and my favs but also horrific. Why is it that futuristic films are always so sterile. There are never any animals in them, or natural wilderness. And disturbingly the robots in A.I. have more empathy and compassion than the human beings. Is this what we see as 'progress'?

Susan Cooper's "The Dark Is Rising" Series is my absolute favourite. It's young adult fiction but for me has been a series of clues relating to my real life mission that I have followed all the way from New Zealand to Cornwall... who knows what magical event will happen next?

About me:

With dreams soaring through the stars, I find I constantly get lost in the faerytale land inside my head.... Dive into those depths with me!

Heya!
I'm Felicity Fyr Le Fay - but you can call me Flame. I describe myself best through my creativity - I'm a fine artist, aerial acrobat, fire performer, model and dancer/choreographer. Performing is my absolute passion - I have toured as a trapeze artist with two circuses, acted in professional theatre and hosted gorgeous Fairy Parties for thousands of children in the UK. My partner and I are now beginning a European touring project "CIRQUE DES FEES" - so keep your eyes open for us!

So many things, including myth and ancient lore, quantum physics, the subconscious, the supernatural and the natural world absolutely fascinate me. I’m lucky in that I get to explore much of that as I write for Faeries and Enchantment Magazine (FAE), which is on sale at the UK & the US. The Faery Gatherings & Festivals here in Europe and the UK are growing bigger all the time. A large part of that involves concern for the Earth, Animal Kingdom and Environment, as Faeries are Nature Spirits, of course! It’s very important that all over the world different groups are getting together to reverse man’s current desecration of our planet. Some big changes are afoot!

I’ve been a performing professionally since I was 14, and trained and worked as a stage actress before falling in love with circus arts. I specialise in two main areas:
Firstly - dramatic bespoke aerial acrobatics and fire performance for cabarets, nightclubs, festivals and long term cruise contracts;
and Secondly working with children delightfully characterised as ‘Felicity Fairy’ with my performance partner ‘Muddlehead the Pixie’. As Felicity and Muddlehead we have hosted birthday parties, workshops and stage shows for thousands of children all over Kent, Sussex and Cornwall.
Teaching has also been a passion for me and it has been a very special experience to be one of the founding directors of The Firecracker Circus, based in Lewes, UK. A small school with training for both children and adults Oli and I will really miss it as we begin our next adventure – to perform throughout Europe, with a streetshow, raising enough funds to continue overland to Hong Kong, then cross islands all the way back to New Zealand!

* Aerial Professional Development (3 month intensive in Trapeze, Web and Silks)
* Diploma in Commercial Broadcasting (6 month intensive)
* Diploma in Professional Make Up and Modelling (6 week course) My studies have included Classical Acting and Voice, Aerial Acrobats, Street Theatre, and Television Presenting and Radio/Copy Production. Dance training includes ballet, ballroom, Latin American, pole and freestyle improvisation.

Fine Art and Costume Creation

When I have spare time (!) I love to oil paint and wire sculpt; design clothing; study myth, ancient history and modern international relations. I'm also writing a novel - but isn't everyone!

Beauty and Art give us hope, and the inspiration to strive for a more magical, peaceful and perfect world. I admire artists, performers and directors who use their media as a tool to convey a message or ideal - romantic or political. I love films that induce contemplation for weeks afterward.
Much of my own art is self and life reflective, born out of great happiness or misery... such is the turbulent nature of the artistic temperament!

Photographic and Live Modeling

Working as an artists model is great for mind over matter, but sometimes a harder work out than aerial on the body... it takes a lot of effort to keep that still!
Three years ago I decided to try photographic work also, focusing on fine and alternative art styles. I enjoy working with photographers where the end result is a mutual collaboration, often something a bit dark and edgy, or etherial. I don't feel that scope normally exists in fashion photography.
